The Senate Finance Committee moved the massive GOP tax plan forward another step on Thursday by reporting the Republican bill to the full chamber in a party line vote. The bill, named the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), moved forward on a vote of 14 to 12, with every member voting on party lines.

The TCJA will next move to the Senate floor, likely the week after the Thanksgiving recess, to be considered by the full body.

A defeat of this tax bill is a victory for the American people. The bill is unjust, unethical and immoral.

Where is the morality in eliminating state and local tax payment deductions on federal filings? Aren't residents of California, New York and Taxachusetts taxed through the roof already?

This tax bill in effect prescribes double taxation, and should be declared unconstitutional.

You idiot this tax bill will save working families thousands of dollars! To the extent it screws over a bunch of coastal Democrats, well frick them. That’s a feature, not a bug if you ask me. Why do we have to subsidize their high tax state governments? Oh and spare me the fact they pay more to the federal government than they take back. So do most of us.

The problem is these shitty states are run very poorly. When they need money, they tax the shite out of their people.

The rest of the country shouldn’t have to subsidize that bullshite.

Jesus, you’re a fricking moron.

Where is the morality in allowing deductions for damn near anything while letting our debt continue to rise?

How exactly do you bring down the debt when you have that type mentality?

I'll give you credit, this is the first argument I've heard from Dems opposing the tax plan besides "muh debt".

Doesn't make it any less of an asinine argument.

How disingenuous to blame to Federal gov't for the ridiculous taxes those states impose on their residents. God forbid you call out those local govt officials. Oh yeah I forgot, they're all blue so you'd never do that.

Claiming to represent the Americans who voted for Trump’s policies, they vote no on them.

Y'all say I'm stupid, but the noted LIBERAL congressman Darrell Issa, who represents LIBERAL enclaves like Temecula, Murrieta and non-coastal Orange County, opposes the bill for the very reason I stated.

Why should Californians be penalized for paying 13.5% state income tax, and not being able to deduct that on the long tax form?

Want to know how I know you are fundamentally dishonest?

Most Americans dont itemize. Your statement applies to those who do, thus most Americans will not be affected.

Your concern for the top 20% is noted, however.

What's stopping those states from lowering the tax burden on their citizens?

Oh wait, nothing.

Talk to your state reps. Why should the other 49 states be penalized and have to subsidize California and its fiscal incompetence?

Is this a troll? You aren't upset about the 13.5% State taxes, only upset about whether it's deductible?
