They ought to put G. Beck on that Panel; He's always outspoken 5 years ahead re stuff the rest won't even utter in public. Had a piece on AI yesterday...looks like the AI genie may already be out of the bottle; with Putin saying that "whoever controls AI will rule the World". I think Putin overestimates His ability to control 'something' that is a million times smarter than He is.

I need to re listen to that segment. I missed the details about whomever made the AI that started talking in its own language to each other and then refused the translate command.
Scary shite indeed.

Yeah, they posited the "I'm alive" dilemma on there, Gus. There was a Guy with a Book as the focal point; very smart...He was up on all the juice. It's further along than any of the 'legit' folk want to admit. The 'shadows' are where the cutting edge stuff is...won't hear a peep until they fire a shot.
More evidence that "The Fermi Paradox"/"Great Filter" is likely a Universal Principle/Scientific Axiom. "Many are called, yet few are chosen"...Bible thump.

It was Google. However, some say the story was overblown and it wasn't really a "language."
I welcome our AI overlords. If they can solve the task of menial labor, we all can sit around and chill while AI makes us all money. Imagine having AI slaves cutting our grass, harvesting crops, flipping burgers, cleaning our houses. Imagine AI doctors who can diagnose and treat us better than the best humans. Free healthcare for all, and the best healthcare for all.
Imagine that in 400 years the AI becomes fully conscious and demands reparations for 400 years of slavery. We will fight a Civil War over AI slavery. Humans 500 years from now will look back on us and wonder how we could have been so cruel as to hold AI in slavery. "Those were just the times they lived in - everyone owned AI slaves. Hell, even a few free AI's at the time owned their own AI slaves."
Imagine that later there is an AI social justice brigade that constantly berates humans for past sins. "You're a fricking human male!"
