Senate Republicans are dinging frontrunners Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis for not supporting Ukraine, calling for leaders who embrace a more Reagan-esque foreign policy.

Cornyn, a former whip and party campaign chairman, name-checked GOP White House contenders who align with his thinking: “There’s a number of them: [Mike] Pompeo, [Mike] Pence, [Nikki] Haley, Tim Scott if he gets in. I think that’s still where the significant majority of the party is.”

Katie Brit, John Kennedy all these are inline with Turtle.

Polling released this week from Gallup found that 62 percent of Republicans rate the war between Russia and Ukraine as a critical threat to U.S. interests, an increase of six points since 2022 — and a higher level of GOP buy-in than among Democrats and Independents. Romney said Trump and DeSantis’ positions are “not the prevailing view, apparently, with the Republican voters at large.”

I don’t believe that poll.

It’s either Ron or Don. If they don’t realize this, then they’re absolute morons.

I believe the poll, but the concern of threat is our own government's response to said conflict

They realize it. They’re fricking stupid enough to think they can pull off a coup.

How well did operation Please Clap work for them?

That poll is bullshite.

I used to know some people who supported that massive WWIII encouraging grift, but they have all become massively anti-sending any more money or weapons to that corrupt sink hole.

I doubt that is "anecdotal". Just go and ask any stranger if they support sending more billions to Ukraine.

Just because someone wants to stop giving trillions to Ukraine doesn’t mean they support Russia and Putin.

This is open to interpretation. I think it’s a critical threat as well - which is why I want us OUT of that shite. It’s a security threat continuing to wind ourselves further and further into this proxy war with Russia and China. Plus it’s a massive economic drain on us. And as long as we are engaged on the weaker side, we’re not going to let them concede the war

It’s a critical threat, but a person’s opinion on the war isn’t clear from that statement

Pretty sad that Little Lady Lindsey Graham invokes Reagan in all of this - Reagan was in the middle of a Cold War and didn't escalate things like Graham wants to do. Graham is a loser and among the most un-American and anti-American members of Congress, but he'll wrap himself with the flag as he sends your children to war. Pathetic, miserable creature.

Didn’t know he spoke for the voters that are actually providing all that hard earned support ($) for Ukraine with no effective say.

And if all of those candidates care about Ukraine so much, they can kindly go fight alongside their President.
