Even if the senate does vote for this, it would still have to pass the house and be signed by Trump - and we all know that won't happen. More likely, this is a move by Schumer to get people on the record for the 2018 midterms.

No it doesn't

This is covered under the Congressional Review Act which has been law since the 1990s.

Since the FCC just changed the rule congress(Senate) has 60 days to vote by simple majority to reenforce or overturn a rule/regulation.
The President does not sign anything because it isn't a Bill

Edit: I was wrong on this. It does have to be passed by both houses and the President can veto it.

Not a bill can't be vetoed.

Look up Congressional Review Act and you will understand.

Edit: this is wrong. It does have to pass both houses and the President can veto

Trump hasn’t said much about it. Given how unpopular the repeal was, why would he want to put his neck out for the FCC?

For a regulation to be invalidated under the CRA, the Congressional resolution of disapproval must either be signed by the President or be passed over the President's veto by two thirds of both Houses of Congress.[

As Gizmodo reported Wednesday, only 107 of 239 House Republicans signed a letter in support of the FCC’s plan to repeal net neutrality rules, which large majorities of Americans — including 3 out of 4 Republicans — oppose, according to a recent survey.

A simple majority is needed to pass a CRA resolution in both the House and Senate, in the latter of which Republicans are set to hold an increasingly slim 51-to-49 majority. However, a two-thirds majority in both chambers would be needed to override a likely veto by Trump.

The point is to make the Republicans go on the record. Obviously, Trump will veto the bill but it’s a good hammer for 2018.

I promise you there will be 7-10 Republican Senators that vote for Net Neutrality. The polls show 70% of Republicans support Net Neutrality.

That’s cause most people hate ISPs and phone companies and have been convinced they will twirl their evil mustaches while blocking certain sites. Meanwhile big corporations that people like and younger people that like to stream a lot get people that don’t subsidize them and we decrease the incentive to increase competition among ISPs or spend on next generation speeds
