Governments never do... I suppose you noticed the "raise to service workers" and "Administration" that was built in...

The absolutely hillarious thing is they are too stupid to realize they are only going to attract more problems by giving away free stuff...

I wonder how much the Seattle population celebrated Obama’s swagger when he said “elections have consequences”

I'll bet San Franciscans are celebrating. Their outrageous homeless problem may have just been solved for them.

How would this work for a company like Boeing who is headquartered in Illinois and employees thousands in Seattle?

This is what I’m wondering too. Is it a tax just on the number of workers that a company has in Seattle or a tax against the companies total number of employees even if they’re outside of Seattle.

Can Amazon move to Louisiana?

I hope all of their major companies pack up and move. If I’m a CEO and can’t relocate the business I would cut the budget. First cut is employee’s salaries starting with the lowest paid and cut all donations to offset this stupid tax so it will not cost the company .01 cent.

You get the government that you ask for and deserve.

Reap what you sew Seattle. Just don't bitch about it when Amazon and you other big companies open up new headquarters in a random southern state. Just don't move here to NC, we already have enough transplanted liberals fricking things up here.

The could but in Louisiana we tax them and hand the money over to politicians, trial lawyers, and other cronies instead of homeless people.

Amazon and Starbucks. 2 of the most outspoken liberal companies in the country. All for the liberal agenda. As with all liberals they are all for liberal policies until it affects them. Then its an outrage. They got what they deserved. That being said, I would relocate immediately if they were my companies. With this word out there, more and more homeless will come to town and then there will be a need to raise the taxes and fees even higher.

The exodus has begun: Albertsons closing two Seattle stores (LINK /)

"Albertsons said late Monday it will close two unprofitable grocery stores in Seattle’s north end next month, citing increasing costs related to city of Seattle regulations implemented over the last three years."

Look at all those "Tax Amazon" signs. I never understand why people have such hatred for large profitable businesses in their communities.

The next time a liberal considers non-positive effects of one of their policies beyond their intended kumbaya effect will be the first

Most of Boeing's ops are outside of Seattle so not much affect on them.

Yep, the article linked by the OP said only 3% of the stores would be affected by this new law.

Yeah, right, Seattle Commission clowns. Look for higher prices for the consumers from that 3%.
