I wold've ruled in favor of the muzzie here.
Religious freedom guaranteed by the first amendment is religious freedom guaranteed by the first amendment.
They should've allowed an imam there.
Criminal conviction is manifested by suspension of many rights guaranteed by the constitution and its amendments.

Yeah, seeing as this recent Moslem convert was convicted and sentenced to death over 20 years ago, and waited 10 days prior to execution to raise this issue, I can see how the court considered it a BS appeal.

I suspect there is more here for the SC to have gotten involved and that the.article cited deliberately excluded that more. In general though I'm not.that concerned about what happens to people eho have no business being here.

It’s about the afterlife and dignity in dying. A murderer who requests a priest or rabbi at his execution gets one, but a Muslim can’t have a spiritual leader present? I don’t know about this. Just seems wrong. What’s right for one is right for all. This means they could deny a Christian the comfort of a priest. Don’t like it.

You need to go back and read the rest of the thread.

You should probably read the opinion and not just some shitty partisan article with a clickbait headline.

You didn't have the facts of this case when you posted this, did you?

So they'd rather deny christian inmates their own pastor/preist to look fair denying the muzzie his imam than to let the muzzie have his imam there in his very last moments?
Not really that simple. The policy allowed only Chaplains employed by the ADOC in the execution chamber. Employed is the key word here and if you really thought about it, it would be reasonable to expect anyone allowed into that room to be an employee of the State for obvious reasons...

sounds like a ploy to delay the grim reaper

Yeah, shows you don't know shite... Only Chaplains employed by ADOC were allowed into the actual execution chamber... He got his spiritual advisor up to the point he was wheeled into the execution chamber...

Well, I auppoae they couls have hung him on the town square and let an Imam and whoever else wanted to watch be there. Maybe public execution with a reading of the conviction is the way to go.

Meh, I'd rather just as soon see the goat frickers banned from this country all together. They're a drain on Western Civilization.

Why can't this guy have his imam when another guy can have a pastor and another guy a rabbi?
Posted on 2/8/19 at 7:45 am to Clames
So shite stirrer conveniently left out ALL this in his post. How convenient of him.

You'd know the answer to this if you bothered actually reading the court's opinion and not just a headline from a biased news paper.
