I know in NC years ago I tried to get a mail in ballot not absentee for living overseas military spouse...
I had just had 2 surgeries recovering...and it required a notary witness.
PITA. So I carried my arse to vote all hopped on pain meds.

Starting in a few minutes.
I hope a few PT lawyers listen to inform which way it is leading by the legal arguments.

But what about African Americans?

Expect them to screw this one up also.

It’s not hard, but the obvious question is whether a citizen who marks and mails his ballot timely has voted on Election Day. I say he or she has done so. How many rural and elderly citizens, or deployed service members, are you willing to disenfranchise?

Yet they somehow get their power, water, cable, and phone bill mailed on time

I have been listening. So far no one is addressing mail in ballots are separate from absentee military overseas Americans..
Has anyone said that the mail in ballots counted for 30 days was special pandemic circumstances that states like PA kept doing?

All rural and elderly that fail to make it to the polling place should not be counted. However, if the deployed service members have their ballots post marked on time, those should be counted.
Ftr, I'm shocked you want the ballots of service members counted. They're generally overwhelmingly Republican.

Elderly citizens in stage 3 alzheimers have democrats visit their nursing home and vote democrat.
See NC newspapers circa Obama. Complete with black Panthers guarding the polls with Billy clubs...

keep in mind Mississippi does not have mail in voting per se. This case is about absentee ballots.

Interesting... thanks I was not aware this was absentee ballots only.
That can get complicated... Recall the public absentee ballots missing from the military in the Obama years. Seems like the SEIU and the post office just happened to not Deliver them properly...
My experience VOTING From a military base overseas. The dispersing officer signs off on It. Mail gets lost all the time from this particular base.
This may be a silly argument as military- - - Americans overseas absentee ballots are usually Counted last. But the newfangled Early VOTING for four months CONUS.... May make it all convoluted?
