You know, it’s not a big number. But doesn’t that make it weirder? Why in the world were we giving this money? I’d like to know how many “small” budget items there are. I’m very suspicious of these, because I think that’s where a lot of the graft is.

I don’t think graft is a substantial part of our spending - that is, substantial relative to the deficit. But I think it’s particularly damaging because it’s what keeps bad actors pining for government positions.

At least they didn’t just fund protecting the Americas and the countries they pulled from.
