The idea, however, that there is some Alien who happens to look human with a white beard who takes the time to individually listen to each of his billions of believers on this insignificant planet in an insignificant solar system and that as long as you swear an allegiance to him he won't condemn you to a life time of fire. Given all the planets and stars out there. It is beyond a ridiculous notion.

asurob...here is a fatal flaw in the arguments you often use. You have to first accurately describe what the opposing viewpoint is before you can question the merits of it with any intellectual honesty.

I could make some outlandish claim to what the premise of your beliefs were before I even tried to discredit them but any argument I make against those beliefs means NOTHING if I intentionally mischaracterize your belief system from the beginning. Can you not see how flimsy your antagonistic stance is coming out of the gate when you aren't even getting the fundamentals of your opposition correct?

You're right. That's not a theory; it's just bullshite.

that's right continue to believe out of the billions and billions of stars and planets.

Your spaghetti monster takes the time to listen to your...telepathic conversations.

in your opinion.

In mine, the are on point ;-).

The fact is, even if out of all the religions that mankind has created to explain stuff he didn't understand the Christian flavor was correct.

It is more then a bit arrogant to think that he ...this all powerful magical sky god would take the time not only to talk to you on a daily basis through prayer but punish you if you didn't keep to your oath of allegiance.

Like I said, if you break it down and actually think about it...even the most devout guy (who has some logical thought process) would question it.

The only thing being a lemming will get you is a sudden fall off a cliff.

Intelligent design. If H2O had a different molecular shape, lakes and oceans would freeze from the bottom to top, which would not allow the earth to continue to exist. I don't have enough faith to believe that nothing and nothing made something, and then that something made something different. Think about it.

No, I'm glad these threads are making a comeback. It'll go a long way towards putting the wind back in the poliboard's sails and attract more good posters.

It is more plausible something created something which then created something out of nothing.

But you see, something made something's nothing which was something else and nothing became something when something's nothing became something else rendering nothing's something everything! Got it?

But you do have faith that something created something which then created a big something out of nothing, then billions of years later creates something out of dust, then judges the something accordingly? Is that the gist of it?

That's crazy IMO
