The meme is stupid

It has the intellectual depth of a kindergartener. And rice wasn't killed because he had a toy gun

Testimony indicates they were communicating with rice through this marvel of modern vehicle technology we call a window.

I think I said that, Shorty, albeit with less cursing.

The "bad guy" in this story is the dispatcher ... if we limit ourselves to only one. But the kid and the cops did have culpability, too.

In order of culpability for the shooting:
1. Dispatcher
2. Cops
3. Kid

Meh

My 12 year old wouldn't even contemplate pointing a real looking gun at police

I feel bad the kid is dead. But he's dead cause he's stupid

Even if the police had been told the gun might be fake, pulling it out is still a recipe for getting dead

with the orange end painted black to look more realistic and refused to drop it while pointing it at cops...

Kyle .. otoh .. had his hands raised and off his weapon.

The cops would have lit up RH like a Christmas tree if he would have pointed that gun at them.

Should say that he killed two commies and he also disarmed another.

This is why we burn our own neighborhoods and kill innocent people and cops

As a kid, I had a toy machine-gun that looked enough like a CAR-15 at a distance. I roamed the entire town "shooting" people with it. Most clutched their chests and pretended to be wounded, including the state trooper who lived next door (and who got "shot" daily).

Simpler times.

Understand, the 12 y/o was 5'7" and over 175 pounds according to the autopsy and wearing a winter coat.

There is video of the Tamir Rice shooting so we don't really have to guess at what happened. In the video linked below, from the time the cop car appears on the screen to the time Rice is shot and on the ground is 4 seconds. Even if Rice had a real gun, he wasn't an active shooter. I don't think they gave him enough time to even understand what was happening or took enough time to properly assess the situation.

I get that he was being a little shite pointing the gun at people and police did not know it wasn't real but 4 seconds to assess and shoot seems too quick for me in that scenario. 99 times out of 100 I am with the police but Tamir Rice was one of the few shootings I think was wrong.

Either way, it has jackshit to do with Rittenhouse. He has a right to defend his life from people attacking him. And he had just as much right to be in Kenosha as any of the rioting and looting dirtbags.

It was the only one in recent memory that actually made me angry.

Even if the kid HAD had a real weapon, there was no one in the area and no one was in danger. There was ZERO excuse for not parking at the street, assessing the situation and moving forward in a deliberate manner ... even KNOWING (as we learned several days later) that the crappy dispatcher had not conveyed all the necessary information.

The kicker?

How was the dispatcher disciplined? 8 day suspension. 8 days.

the officer driving the patrol car drove and directed the car in a way that immediately put his partner in the passenger seat in harm's way (if it was a real gun). He turned the car where the kid had a clear shot at his partner (if the gun was real).

The primary blame goes to the 911 dispatcher for not including that the witness believed the gun was a toy. The driver of the police cruiser was second most to blame because he put his partner in the line of fire.

True but unfortunately they will probably be able to tag him for being 17 and in possession of the firearm. Otherwise, he did us a service!

So the cop should gamble his life on the word of a witness that probably couldn't load a fking gun in real life?

And perhaps the Dispatcher was SMART enough to know that civilians generally know dick about firearms and that it would be prudent to air on the side of caution.

Let's blame the idiot that called the Police in the first place cuz' like you know, it might NOT be a real gun.

You don't deal with life or death situations like that and all you people living your safe little bubble lives are making hindsight judgements about shite you don't have the guts to face, so very very convenient.

The primary blame goes to Tamir and his parents.

Everyone after that is a victim of yet another stupid thug kid making shitty decisions.
