quote:

Sergey Lavrov says Russian experts have inspected the site of the alleged attack in Douma, just east of Damascus, and found no trace of chemical weapons. He says Moscow has "irrefutable information that it was another fabrication."

quote:

He said that "intelligence agencies of a state that is now striving to spearhead a Russo-phobic campaign were involved in that fabrication." He didn't elaborate or name the state.

If this evidence is true would we send nice and new and “smart!" missiles to the country responsible for the fabricated chemical attack to get us back into another war or sweep it under the rug?

ETA: LINK

And

quote:

"Russian services for chemical and radiological security visited the suspected site of the incident and did not find any traces of chemical substances.

"No persons treated for chemical poisoning were found in local hospitals."

Where are the 50 plus dead and 600 plus treated? They would either still be there, been evacuated from Douma with the other jihadis, or it never happened and was a fabrication.

quote:

Independent chemical weapons inspectors are en route to the Eastern Ghouta area to look for evidence. They are expected to arrive on Saturday.

Was it fake news that russia did not want investigators?

quote:

Mattis said "the U.S. does not have hard evidence that chemical weapons were used in the Douma attack that has killed at least 43 people.
He said that they were still trying to get Organization for the Prevention of Chemical Weapons inspectors to Douma within the week to collect evidence."

Wtf...

I am starting to believe that Trump used the word "smart" for a reason, almost like an inside tip of the hat to Putin that he knows what is going on.

I love the rush to judgement... We have to strike within days off learning about the incident with no way to truly verify anything.

I hope this gets exposed for the false flag it is.

Why is Assad gassing children in his own country again?

For a layman like myself the Russian narrative makes the most sense.

Why would Assad gas the opposition at a point where the war is all but over, knowing the international community is watching every step.

It makes sense that in a last ditch effort the rebels (with Israel) pull something like this in hopes the U.S. gets involved and helps them gain ground.

Are you just ignoring the rest of the tweet in which he blatantly accuses Assad of ordering the attack and enjoying it?

Don’t believe anything until the Kremlin denies it.

Also, why would Assad be "one and done" on chem/bio weapons if he were the culprit? Like the Austin Package Bomber, why isn't Assad ordering more and more attacks? According to the "experts" he's a despot madman who routinely gasses his own. So where's the follow up attacks?

If you check back a year ago with that attack, I was strongly against POTUS getting us stuck in Syria like his predecessors have gotten us stuck in ME sand traps. I still am! Stay on the fairways and away from the sand traps Mr. President.

Because he has been regularly using these chlorine/nerve agent canisters and if the ones used in this instance were dropped in a slightly different location there likely would have been *much* fewer deaths and you probably never would have even heard about it.

Has he though? The last time he "did" this seems fishy as well.

With the help of Russia Assad is winning the war. Why would he put his regime in the center of a controversy like this? Why would Putin allow it?

Check this nugget out:
quote:

"Russian services for chemical and radiological security visited the suspected site of the incident and did not find any traces of chemical substances.

"No persons treated for chemical poisoning were found in local hospitals."

Weren't we told this week Macron of France had irrefutable evidence an attack took place?

Even so, without absolute proof of who ordered the attack, we need to tap the brakes on military action. I do think the world needs to hold Russia to account though. Aren't they the guarantor that Syria's chemical weapons were destroyed? They know what happened and claiming it was a fabrication doesn't work.
