Russia and the Soviet Union did a lot worse things to places like Ukraine, Georgia, Latvia, etc. before this plane crash and before Obama.

Obvious to anyone with a pulse.

what did this crash have to do with the USA? We haven't been able to police Russia since, well, FOREVER.

Not so fast. We can use this, if we play it right.

I'm sorry MSCoastTigerGirl, but Rex is right on this one. What happens in the Ukraine isnt our business. The best thing the US can do is stay the hell out of it. We shouldn't go to war just because there are countries in the world that don't respect us, that's just ridiculous. The reason most of them hate us is because we get involved in shite like this that has nothing to do with us.

Tl;dr

I don't give a shite about anything that you say.

And as usual you and Rex, in typical liberal fashion, retort with name calling. I don't give a shite about your opinions. And you need to look in the mirror before you call someone stupid.

I would love to stay and continue to skip over your bullshite posts, but I have to leave.

Oh I agree.

Some serious Machiavelli shite is needed. I just don't think the President has that in him. Nothing he has done to date internationally has given me any faith in his ability to kick the Russians in the balls over this.

Of course you don't. you bitch that no one responds to you and then you bitch when they do.

What you are looking for is attention, but when it's not the attention you seek then you take your ball and run home...

So exactly what is the point of you ever reading this forum?

You are seriously clueless aren't you?

Look, I think most people here are pretty reasonable. This sucks, but there is no way in hell that the US should get involved in this, not even so much as a "strongly worded letter."

That being said, I do think the perception of the strength of the US affects what certain countries are willing to do. I don't think that includes Russia, or China. Like you said: Soviet Russia did far worse when we had much stronger Presidents in office.

Nope. I wasn't fine when the soviets did it or when we did it when we were operating in the gulf. It's a preventable tragedy.

uh ok. Not a thing.

I think that the big kids would kick the arse of the little kids.

But why do we care? Are you advocating that we need to get involved in every regional scrape? Because if so, there are quite a few of them going on in Africa at the moment. you prepared to send ground troop there too? Hell let's intervene in Gaza....why not right?

The United States military's mission is to do one thing and one thing alone. Protect the United States...We could cut our military in half easily (while doubling the navy) and do it easily. We don't need to be sticking our nose in ever regional conflict in the world.

Not our problem.

One day neo-cons will figure that out.

Yup.

There a relatively few places in the world I think are worth going to war over.

Ukraine ain't one of them.

That's the point, she's not defending it. She expects everyone to join hands with her and sing her praises.

It's kind of cute in a sad pathetic way.

Not in the amount that would be necessary to do anything.

Jesus, WHO is suggesting we go to war? And why is this ALWAYS the response when we suggest actions vs Putin?

Fighting Russia over an historical part of the Russian Empire is asinine. But Ukraine is a sovereign nation, and we should take every opportunity to exact a price for this aggression. Russia has no more mythical invincibility in the diplomatic or economic realms than anyone. There should be a cost if we can pin this to them.

Everything else is noise.

I've got a feeling our small group of special ops guys can and are making a difference in hunting down certain groups in places like Somalia.

Not that it's relevant to this thread
