Putin dressing up as Zelenski and touring Kursk is a weak look.

I guess when you've been hiding in your basement from his bombs

If thats what he wants , then why add the other items that he knows Ukraine and the other western allies will not agree to follow? I mean know this isnt the final round of negotiations but his demands are absurd.

Not being rude but Not our fricking problem. If they need help, Zelensky needs to tell his wife to return shite she bought in Paris and everywhere else on US taxpayer funded shopping sprees on money he grifted and lied about.

Maybe if he spent the last 3 years he has been getting hundreds of billions making a strategy plan instead of jet setting the world in military fatigues trying to get a ticket to the Oscars and on magazine covers, he'd be a little farther along

You got to take the floaties off (the US) and learn to swim at some point, and that time is now

- 4 Donbass regions recognised as Russian territories plus Crimea

Donbas is a region that the Soviet Union and Russia have always wanted. Ukraine eastern border extended 100’s of miles from the current Donbas eastern border. Ukraine’s border also went north into current Russia and northwest into what is now part of Belarus. Russia and the Soviet Union has recognized the borders of the Ukraine in the past, but have went back on their word every time. In 1917 they agreed to a border and less than a year later they changed their mind and Ukraine-Soviet war lasted 4 years. Over the last 100 plus years Russia has taken land from the Ukraine and have always went back on their word.

Donbas is also the place where Ukrainians started their rebellion against the USSR in 1989. Donbas is not a majority Russian speaking part of Ukraine like Putin wants people to believe. It’s part of the original Ukraine, before they were forced to join the USSR.

Ukrainian government and people are not going to believe Putin’s treaty. They don’t trust Russia and shouldn’t trust them.

There will be Guerrilla warfare for decades if this type of treaty is signed.

Except part of what Russian wants is for Ukraine to demilitarize. So they won’t be ready to defend themselves in 4-6 years.

Not taking Zelensky’s side on this fricked up situation, but you can’t expect Ukraine to defend itself without any help if you “sign the deal”.

People want Ukraine to just lay down.
Then people said with the EU ramping up support they were gonna start WW3.

No blame at all to Russia is crazy.

If I was Ukraine I would fight until the nuke me
frick Russia. What have they ever done for us .

- No NATO membership for Ukraine
Reasonable enough, in context.

- No NATO "peacekeepers" in Ukraine
Ok, fine.

quote:

Ukraine is denazified
How do you quantify "denazified?" Who would decide who the "Nazis" are? Russia will demand it's them, I suspect. Which sounds like a thinly veiled attempt to install a government sympathetic to them, at best, but a puppet government is the likely goal.

quote:

- Ukraine is demilitarised
For what purpose? Is Putin so traumatized by Kursk that he now fears a total invasion of Russia? Of course not. This is an outright term of surrender.
quote:

- 4 Donbass regions recognised as Russian territories plus Crimea
This is another outright term of surrender.

If you think Ukraine should settle for this "deal", I won't argue with you. But call it what it is: total surrender. The Russian flag will be flying over Kiev in 5 years, tops, and probably in less than half the time, if they settle for this. To call it a ceasefire deal is laughable. Neville Chamberlain would tell Putin to get fricked.

You can have whatever opinion you want on the conflict, even openly pro-Russian, and should still be capable of understanding what a nonstarter this is for Ukraine.

I wouldn’t trust Russia. I don’t trust Ukraine. Flip a coin? No.
Just let Russia make a fool of themselves (acts of war) and then come to Ukraine’s defense.
When peace becomes an expectation (not an achievement), you end up with libtards.

I think 3 of the 4 asks are reasonable. Asking them to demilitarize with no security guarantees is not a serious offer of peace

That’s because Putin was never serious about peace. One would need to be in complete denial of reality to think that “peace” was ever Russia’s goal. Russia’s goal is conquest. Which is why Russia should have been met with strength, not concessions.

You have to have some type of neutral peace keeping force, maybe the Arabs or Israelis

Hypotheticals aren't built equally. They range from absurd, to abstract, to highly likely possibilities, and everywhere in between.

Based on recent history I'd rate this hypothetical closer to the highly likely end of the spectrum.

Based on recent history I'd say this one is closer to absurd.
