NATO is already on their border in Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia. Ukraine could be the final straw.
Lithuania is not on Russia’s border, but fair point. The other 2 are. But as someone else pointed out - they aren’t a threat territorially. Russia would have them surrounded - even to the north (water), and Belarus to the south.
NATO can’t invade Russia through those 2. That’s where Ukraine comes in. Putin loses Ukraine, he loses a military path to Europe, and gives NATO direct access.

Let’s see how far Putin can go before he goes one nation too far. I think we’ve seen this before.
Crimea = Rhineland
Ukraine = Austria
Baltic States = Czechoslovakia
Poland = Poland

It isn't just Democrats. We have a lot of "not our problem" Libertarians that thankfully weren't around in the 1940s or the Kingdom of Germany and Imperial Japan would be raiding our nation for natural resources to help in their war with Soviet Russia.

Ukraine is a bigger quagmire especially if the west starts rapidly arming the Ukrainian military.
Look at the map. Ukraine is the land conduit between Russia and Europe (NATO). On top of that, I think I read it’s the next biggest country behind Russia.
Its strategic for sure. Russia won’t let NATO have it.

Look at it from Putins point of view:
1) Trump said during his term what everyone else already knew: NATO is the US military. Europe spends their money on social programs because the US is their protection. He tried to get them to step up, they just waited him out.
2) Joe Biden is weak, incompentant, and has a 33% approval level. Americans wouldn't trust him to lead a lemonade stand.
3) the American military has been weakenen due to social engineering and Covid vaccine mandates. Morale is low and resolve is non existent.
If Putin was ever going to bluff himself into getti g his agenda demands, now is EXACTLY the time. America is weak, Europe is soft, and Ukraine is corrupt enough to implode.

Don’t forget about Russia’s oblast Kalingrad that borders Lithuania.

The real alarming thing about all of this is we don't know the vaxx status of those million reservists. Imagine a million unvaxxed Russians sending a wave of sniffles across Europe.

Sadly, our military strategists have probably considered this as a weakness in the Russian plan.

Touché. But that’s kinda of their own doing, as opposed to NATO encroachment.

His bluff was the initial build up that led to his demands through talks. We basically told him NATO will do what it wants.
This next step isn’t a bluff.
And your point that America is weak - while true - that is why he will move. If America was going to fold because it knew it was weak, it would have done so during the talks.
The problem is America doesn’t realize it’s weak. It’s negotiating as if it’s from a position of strength. That’s the bluff (unintended). Putin sees it.

Let me clarify, the American military isn't weak. It's the best in the history of the world and its not close (meaning capability).
The leadership and the public support for military action are what is weak.

We’re saying the same thing here.

Can they come and topple our current government please?!
At this point I actually believe Putin more than the Marxist lying POS in power!

Here's the conflict I have as an American.
Putin is unapologetically Orthodox Christian.
Our nation's leaders (Democrats) are openly hostile toward Christianity and its moral traditions.
I liked it when America had the moral high ground, instead of being a nation of abortions, LGBTQ, and secularism.

Russia is just waiving their dicks at Europe. They're not going to invade.
They went through a lot of shite to unlink their economy to the dollar and in doing so they have a lot tied up in Euros. Invading Ukraine would ruin that.
If I'm Putin and also an egomaniac, I go for the northern half of Kazakhstan while everyone is worried about Ukraine. A lot of people don't realize that Kazakhstan is an absolute gem. A lot of ethnic Russians there, too. They could probably work something out with China.

That’s the other scary thing. Putin sees how we have deviated as a society for everything you mentioned. He knows if he doesn’t push back now that could be knocking on his door soon.

I'd also like to add that the US gets blamed for every bad thing that happens after every intervention. The US should pull out of Europe completely and let the EU fend for itself. The EU shits all over us and then needs us to protect them even though they're huge and wealthy. It's completely fricked.

Jimmy carter is still alive and will be able to personally hand off the trophy for “worst foreign diplomacy by a US President” to Joe Biden.

Putin knows he is feckless, and does not carry a sack of nuts.
Putin knows over half this country and the vast majority of effective soldiers in it wouldn't support a Biden war campaign. Imagine him trying to institute a draft right now. It would be a disaster.
