I’ve had a theory since Trump won the election that he would use reset of the US deep state as a negotiating piece.
The Russians have no trust in the US because as Putin has said in interviews… American President’s only think they’re in control until the men in suits show up and tell them what to do.
The only way Putin is likely to trust the long-term feasibility of anything offered or negotiated with the US is if DJT can also say hey - you’re right, you can’t trust us. . . But im going to change that.
I’ve might end up being completely wrong, but I’m with ya on the general train of thought.

When I graduated I worked in warehouses for a decade around (probably) retards like you. I was blue collar until my wife and I decided it would be best for me to go back to school. So I did, and now I’m able to provide for myself without breaking my body. I am America. I am what America is about. If you support this administration, in my eyes you’re close to treasonous.
And the very sad reality is I know you all. I grew up with you all. And you’re too fricking stupid to understand what I’m saying. And he’s taking advantage of it.

Because Putin knew that sanctions would be the response to his further territorial expansions, post-2014, and he sought a strategy that would make them "sanction-proof", which meant more self-reliance and a much poorer country with limited options. You can go a long way with a poor society that has food and petro domestically (or stealing it from Ukraine)
