Yet car manufacturers weren't making these changes willingly.
Did you know back under a Democratic President it was a requirement (mandatory) that foreign car manufacturers had to have an alternative fuels program in order to sell cars in the US?
They didn't have to offer them to sale, they just had to have the program. That is largely why BMW had its traveling Hydrogen car program.
I'm all for removing stupid vehicle requirements and taking away EV credits
I think we should have some emissions standards because it's a legit air quality issue, but not because of climate change.

All these numbers are staggering. I means billions in fraud and trillions in cuts.

Grok, is Powerbottom full of shite, as usual?
The “Green New Deal" legislation ideas influenced major climate-related laws under the Biden administration, such as:
- The **Inflation Reduction Act** (2022), which provided hundreds of billions in clean energy investments.
- The **Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act** (2021).

Not really. When it was introduced, this was very close to the number. This is money saved by not moving forward. Of course, this is over a number of years, but it’s not far off from initial projections. Outward-looking, some costs were projected to be upwards of 5.7 trillion on the high end numbers I remember seeing.

The rollback of the Endangerment Finding is destined to be challenged and wind up at the USSC, which has already ruled on greenhouse gasses. Couple that with how the Trump admin arrived at rolling it back, and I don't think we see any real changes from the auto industry (or any other concerned industry) for a while.
I hope most of the regulations are rolled back, but I don't see the auto industry spending the money to convert everything again when this may or may not last. It could wind up a very costly yo-yo effect.

So the Green New Deal was never a law. And I cited the inflation reduction act
Where was I wrong?

So that means we are going to reduce government spending and we should see 1.3 trillion less in the next budget bill right?
Right?
depends on the time span of the next budget bill and the time span of these projected savings

Evidence please.
I'd say the evidence might be in the court of the person that claimed the savings came from terminating a bill that was never passed
I provided some numbers on page 1

That's pretty impressive since the Green New Deal (which I'm opposed to) never became a law in the first place
Oh yes it did.
It was all just hidden away in that other shite sandwich lie called the Inflation "Reduction" Act.

Spoiler Alert: The next bill will continue even more spending and debt. We double our debt about once every 10 years with no sign of it slowing down until the dollar is absolutely worthless.
In 10 years you'll be paying $20 a lb for ground beef.

I laid out the numbers. They don't approach 1.3 trillion

What was approved in the IRA was a very small fraction of what was being propose with the GND
You should do some research on the matter
