CIA / AG & FBI are going to be interesting confirmations
CIA & FBI need to be polar opposites of Burns and Wray. Two of the worst examples of humanity that this nation has ever produced, just abject failures.
AG, has to be Josh Hawley. I’m not sure if professionally US Attorney General is where he saw his career path taking him, as I believe he has higher future aspirations, but damn. Plus, Mo. governor elect Kehoe is deep MAGA red as outgoing governor Parsons so a solid senator appointment from Mo. would be assured.

I don't understand this pic. This is a very important org and what experience does she have? Seems like he's throwing a bone to a female on this one... This is too important of a position for a dei hire.

Basically it's letting Homan cook.

Not being a smart arse or SFP…why is this a great pick?
She's loyal, doesn't seek attention, and was able to focus Trump in what was his cleanest campaign by far

Someone on FB posted she’s like having an All Pro center. You don t know why it makes your team better but it just does.
Speaking to the not so knowledgeable football fans. Real fans know why a good center matters

None of his picks will be who we think they will be.

It is actually a good pick. DHS secretary is an organizational administrative job. It is not a "technical experience" job. Each Component has a head who is expected to be knowledgeable in leading that component. It is the job of the S1 to make sure that all of those component leaders are following the policy and initiative of the President. Bringing on a Governor for this is a solid choice. Remember the very first DHS Sec, Tom Ridge was a Governor who had little experience in any of the actual components. She will work VERY well with Homan and will work to get all of the leftist BS out of the agency.

Isn't that basically every Cabinet position?

quote:To a point yes, but DHS is somewhat unique in that when it was created 21 years ago, it brought together many disparate components into one agency. Those components keep a lot of autonomy, for instance CBP, USCG, TSA, FEMA are unique competencies. So in reality, each of those components have leaders that are very connected to their mission (in most cases). In reality all political appointees are just that POLITICAL appointees, for example, can someone point out the actual useful background Peter Buttigieg had that qualified him for the Secretary of Transportation? I actually think this is a good setup, making Homan DHS S1 would have tied him down to many other issues that would have distracted him from the border crisis. By doing it the way, they put a proven administrator (Governor) in the position to support Homan with his focus on the border.
Isn't that basically every Cabinet position?

I haven't had time to keep up with this board like I normally do, can someone explain to me why Rubio would give up a senate seat to be SOS? Seems like a serious downgrade.

Hillary went from Secretary of State to Presidential candidate...perhaps Marco has similar aspirations down the road...

If I might make a suggestion for improving the information in the OP just a bit, would it be possible to add each appointee's current office/position/job so we can see where they are coming from? If it's not too much trouble...
Are you scared that Chicken is going to ban you for asking a direct question and that’s why you have so many “if I might” “suggestion” “would it be possible” “if it’s not too much trouble” “cheers emojis”

Comparing Chicken's list with the Trump first term appointment schedule, Trump seems to be 4-6 weeks ahead announcing his picts this time. He is about 1/3 complete in the first 7 days following the election.
I had read that Trump's core group started people selection work , some three months ago.
Senate is going to have a lot of confirmations to do on jan 21

I hope Trump takes his time this time around. He was either firing or they were quitting on a regular basis in his first term.
