Arbery should never try to take someone else's gun away from them...period! Had Arbery turned and went the other way, or even just put his hands up and surrendered, the cops could have sorted it out later. But no! Arbery decided to take it upon himself to take someone else's shotgun. That person, and I assume even you, would never let someone take your gun for fear of turning it on them.

The simple truth is that the video deflects to the right at the critical moment, so we cannot say with certainty exactly HOW it came to pass that McMichael and Arbery were struggling over the firearm.

But let's look at your assertion that there is NEVER any situation in which it is the "right move" to attempt to take a weapon away from someone who is pointing that weapon at you in a threatening manner.

Imagine that Arbery detoured around the passenger side of the pickup, in order to avoid McMichael (with his firearm) on the driver side of the pickup. This takes little imagination, since it is EXACTLY what the video shows us.

Now imagine that McMichael moves from the driver side of the vehicle to the front of the vehicle, as Arbery is passing the vehicle on the passenger side. Again, this takes little imagination, since it is EXACTLY what the video shows us.

Now, since the video does NOT address this next point, we will need a bit more imagination. Imagine that McMichael sticks the barrel of the shotgun into Arbery's abdomen and says "Stop, n!gger." We do not KNOW that this happened. We are just examining YOUR assertion that there exist NO SITUATIONS in which Arbery should try to grab the weapon.

At this point, I see Arbery as having three basic choices. (1) He can surrender, to three armed rednecks who have been chasing him around the neighborhood for several minutes. (2) He can attempt to run away, with the distinct possibility that one of those rednecks will fill him with lead if he makes that attempt. or (3) He can grab the barrel of the shotgun and attempt to redirect it, in an effort to prevent McMichael from ventilating his abdomen.

I submit that option (3) is NOT inherently unreasonable.
