Seriously, what the hell is going on out there? These left-wing loons love to make fun of flyover country, but at least we take care of our own damn garbage.
I need to go to a taping of Bill Maher's stupid show, and heckle the sh*t out of him as soon as he starts mocking the South.
I Didn't Check the Source
EDIT - Watch the video. It'll make you sick.

Rat-infested piles of rotting garbage left uncollected by the city of Los Angeles, even after promises to clean it up, are fueling concerns about a new epidemic after last year's record number of flea-borne typhus cases.
Even the city's most notorious trash pile, located between downtown LA's busy Fashion and Produce districts, continues to be a magnet for rats after it was cleaned up months ago. The rodents can carry typhus-infected fleas, which can spread the disease to humans through bacteria rubbed into the eyes or cuts and scrapes on the skin, resulting in severe flu-like symptoms.
The NBC4 I-Team first told Mayor Eric Garcetti's office about the piles of filth in the 700 block of Ceres Avenue in October. At the time, he promised to make sure trash doesn't pile up like that.
The garbage was cleaned after the interview, but conditions have worsened over the next seven months.

They will blame any epidemic on global warming, not the city's own incompetence.

Rather than wait until CA secedes from the union, I believe they should be expelled post haste.

Hopefully it spreads like wildfire through that city.

Detroit was for decades America's richest city. They were proud of their progressive politics. It didn't work so well.

I listen to the Dr. Drew and Adam Carolla podcast.
Drew has been predicting an LA Typhus outbreak for about a year now.
He says unchecked homelessness brings unchecked rats, which leads to Typhus.
According to Dr. Drew the return of The Plague is about one year away.

Honest question for doctors or veterinarians or anyone who knows.
I live in a nice suburban neighborhood which is about 20 years old. Our neighborhood built around the trees when possible and we have many, many mature trees.
I run a 4 mile path in the neighborhood and I would guess I see 15 squirrels per mile so about 60 squirrels per day.
Anyway, a ton of squirrels.
So I live in a trash free, nice, suburban neighborhood, but instead of rats we have squirrels.
Are we at risk for a Typhus outbreak?
Will fleas not live on squirrels?
Screw my friend, I'm asking for myself.

Never heard of a squirrel carrying typhus but I hear ya......my neighborhood was infested with rabbits.....luckily a pair of bobcats moved in and took care of the rabbit problem.

The Black Plague entered Europe via biological warfare when the Mongols catapulted people who were dead or dying from the disease into the city of Caffa. The rats did the rest.

LA as a whole isn’t too bad. But downtown LA is absolutely disgusting. But no one cares because downtown LA isn’t really a tourism area.
