You say that like it’s a dig on him when in actuality it’s a dig on DC

quote:hence my comment about those three never "accomplishing" anything. I don't mean more government. I mean that all three of them stood on their perches and SCREAMED, "government is bad, we're gonna turn back the clock on government overreach." None of the three could get any of those things out of committee, much less voted on, much less sent to a President's desk and signed into law.
You said it as well as I could have.
People are so caught up in the idea of having their side winning that they cant see that they are losing no matter which way the votes go because the system has been rigged so that the middle class loses and corporatism, big gov wins either way.
I wasn't advocating for more restrictive government. I was advocating that Paul, Paul, and Massie say all the right things and do frick all to get any of those things done other than tweet.
Maybe 2026 is the year that Massie gets federal restrictions on raw milk revoked and I'll have to backtrack...

So this board hates people who aren't principled enough and people who are too principled? You can't make this place up.
It makes sense when you care about results more than feelings. It feels good when the libertarians masquerading as Republicans tell us what they want to do.
But if they are so principled that they refuse to compromise on anything, and nothing they want ever passes, then what good are they except to make us feel better for being associated with someone so principled?
Giving us some things we want > giving us nothing

Massie is a trash 9% of the time.
And that 9% is always on big issues where a Republican has no business voting with Democrats. So "conservative."

A tired line said by stupid fricks. Accomplishing things in DC is objectively a bad thing. Bush and Obama accomplished a ton. Was that a good thing you stupid frick?
"Yes, Massie is ineffective, but here's why that's a good thing..."
Is this where we are? Pretending that Massie voting against lower taxes is a good thing? Pretending that Massie not removing regulations or reducing spending is what's best?
Is this really going to be the argument going forward for Massie's inability to change things for the better?
"It's a good thing Massie isn't accomplishing any of the things we want."
There has to be a better defense of him than that.
Go back to, "If there were 500 Massies, then we would be better off." While unrealistic, it's at least somewhat true. I just prefer to play within the bounds of reality.

So the Paul’s and Massie should run on that. Elect us as a placeholder. We won’t accomplish anything but not accomplishing anything is good.
Brilliant strategy.

So you don't understand limited government?
Is this what you consider useless placeholders that accomplish nothing? Beautiful.

So Rand is a legit republican. Is that your assertion?

If you’re looking for Rand Paul, he’s not here. He’s out scouting for another useless hill to die on.

Some people take this too far, which hurts more than it helps. This is basically all libertarians
Purity testers only exist to complain. They bring zero actual value. Like Massie. Though Massie brings lots of value to the democrats.

I listed 5 bills Massie tried to push, but could not get them out of committee,
He had some success in committee. Like when he was the deciding vote siding with the Democrats to raise the debt ceiling when Biden was President.

As usual, you rush into these threads with your 6 or 7 lies, and then you think you've accomplished something.
You know the story about the debt ceiling vote, it's been explained to you several times by several people, and then, as usual after that, you never responded. And then a week later you run and post the same stupid shite.
You're a dishonest little bitch. You and your club of 15 here.

I consider you the smartest of the most ardent and don’t mean that as an insult to you in any way.
Obviously, purity tests are huge for Trump and therefore his supporters.
I don’t think that is controversial at all.

I disagree with Trump on lots of stuff. If you’re an elected official being pragmatic is more valuable than being a purity tester. It’s why Massie never gets anything done. And by anything I mean limiting government or preventing government overreach. He has been a very valuable tool for the democrats, however.
