If he'd pick an outsider you would be posting about how dangerous inexperience is as SOS. He can't win with your kind.

Sessions is an outsider and most of our problems can be handled by Bannon, Trump, and Sessions.

Romney makes a ton of sense - especially in ME and Russian politics. I bet Romney can also lean on fellow cultist John Huntsman re: China

It is a great idea. The SecState still serves at the pleasure of the president and has to carry out the president's agenda. Romney knows that. But, Trump will have someone seasoned to rely on and listen to. At the end of the day, Trump is in charge, but he doesn't have a sycophant who just says yes to whatever Trump thinks up. He has a check and balance who will still execute Trump's strategy at the end of the day.

Sounds like a brilliant move by Trump and might be why he will make a great Commander in Chief. I hope he does this on other issues where he lacks experience.

Romney is a patriot. Anyone saying otherwise is deluded.

What makes you think that? What have I ever posted that would give you that impression?

Meh, Sore Losers like you keep trying different ways to get Trump supporters to regret that they voted for Trump.

Ain't gonna happen, dude!

Not my first choice but Trump obviously wants someone that knows something about negotiating. Romney is a very successful negotiator from the business world.

I'm willing to give him a shot if Trump is.

One thing is an incontrovertible FACT. Harambe would be better than the last two blithering idiots.

A "critical thinker" would see how this is a helluva move by Trump(if true). Whoever is picked as SOS will be establishment, you aren't going to be able to put anyone in that position who doesn't have significant political or diplomatic experience.

Sounds like something a blind follower would say.

Is there anything Trump has done that you find fault with or is he your spotless Messiah?

I've openly criticized Trump on this board on a range of topics. I'm not a fan of his trade policies, his nomination of Sessions, or his refusal to touch social security. With that being said, I am fully on board with him being the bigger man in the Romney feud, reaching out and picking the best man for the job. Romney will make a great Secretary of State.

I'd prefer Webb as SoS

Mattis as SoD.

I'd be thrilled to see he wasn't completely surrounding himself with Yes Men, like the current moron.

You do understand that the cabinet members have to push the president's agenda. Sure he will give them time to give their opinion on all issues but if they don't push Trumps agenda, they will be back out on the street.

I have zero and I do mean zero problem with Romney.

I think Mitt is an excellent choice. The position plays to his strength. His opinions are a balance to what we may be hearing from the hardline Trump camp. This is another "adult in the room" in an area that can use it. He will continue to be a good representative for the pro business class. I like it.

I don't trust people who have been politicians for more than a decade.

I'm not sure how being governor qualifies him for SOS but whatever. It is what it is.

Ran the 2002 Winter Olympics, and turned it into a massive success, CEO of a large corporation, solid governor. I'd say he is more than capable of being SOS.
