Noted lover of democracy wants his choice to be the only choice.
Also, note that those who scream the loudest about the unfairness of the electoral college winner sometimes losing the popular vote are perfectly fine with 12 people disqualifying the most popular candidate from the ballot.

we never had a democracy, democracy is mob rule. Think of 2 lions and a zebra voting on what to have for lunch, 2-1 lions win and the zebra is the lunch, that is what democracy is, mob rule, in a Constitutional Republic the zebra has rights and gets to live.
