I'm talking state policies, not just repeating Trump's national agenda. I'm genuinely curious what you all think he was going to do.

I see this mentioned a lot, but genuinely curious about these lawsuits. Do you have any examples? Not a “gotcha” post, I’m not in o&g.

So, continuing the status quo of allowing unopposed destruction of our coast? Fantastic policy!

He didn't have shite. No policies. Tried to ride Trump's coattails. Worst part is over 700,000 dummies tried to elect him because man baby said so. Fail!

Pathetic. Louisiana is dead last in just about every economic and educational ranking. Yet, you support a guy that will do nothing to improve those rankings and you now want to know what the conservative opponents policies were that would help the state. Remember, your last. You can only go up. Edwards isn’t going to lift you.

Clearly, you like being a loser (last) and already determined who you would vote for as you don’t know and didn’t care to learn Rispone’s policies.

Man, this shite is too easy.

In 2015, LLAW notes that then-candidate John Bel Edwards told voters, “I believe the best way to raise revenue is not by raising tax rates, it’s by growing the economy.” Yet by early 2016, the Wall Street Journal reported that Edwards and Louisiana lawyers had done the opposite by “plotting against the energy industry to fork over billions to restore the eroding coastline or brave a drawn-out legal battle.” At issue is a shrinking coastline, a struggling oil and gas industry, increased taxes and fewer jobs, a bludgeoning lawsuit environment, and two opposing political approaches, according to LLAW.

quote:

In a May 19 letter written to the presidents of Louisiana’s two largest oil and gas trade associations (which represent over 100 local companies), Edwards wrote, “We are struggling to pay for our state’s Master Plan to restore the coast. I intend to be involved in all facets of the state’s coastal restoration efforts – including those efforts to secure funding for the Master Plan. … At this point, we have two choices – work together toward an amicable solution or spend years in litigation. There should be no doubt that it is in the best interests of Louisiana and the industry to choose the former option.”

I’m no melter. Sucks that he lost, but he was a terrible candidate. He may have been a great Governor but his campaign was “hey look at me I’m just like Trump”. I wanted to hear more from him about his plans for the state. I know what JBE plans are, more taxes, more entitlements, more buddies getting deals and no tort reform.

But if the tax structure in LA doesn’t change I’ll be forced to take up a TX residence to save the tax $. My businesses are here and that ain’t changing but if I can make TX my primary residence the $ savings is huge. My CPA is pushing this move. This is my home but I’m getting tax-raped here.

Think for a minute - how was the coastal marsh of South Louisiana built initially? What has changed in the last 200 yrs?
