Every one of those "academics" need to be ignored from here on out. By signing onto this sort of ridiculousness they prove they are unable to view something in the scientific standard of having no bias.

I guess they hate this movie then.

Science Journal should write a response to the critics:
'Your silly whining demonstrates your total inferiority.'

Ridiculous. Nature should be ashamed for publishing something like this

Any technical justification for this descriptor could get swamped as it enters the public arena
They should probably be more concerned that the "public arena" has no freaking clue what a quantum computer is...nor do they care.

Many established research and academic institutions are becoming so fricking terrible these days, not just university's, but the nature of institutional academia as a whole.
They are in such a rush to disprove any new ideas, that they are suffocating anything truly radical and innovative in their fields.
Yes, peer review and all of that shite absolutely is needed, but the drive to slam out of the box thinking, particularly as it relates to ideas that may compete with string theory, is out of control and counter productive.
I really think we need a paradigm shift in the way we view innovative thinkers in the realms of physics, economics and some of these other areas.
Getting published, getting tenure, and the bureaucracy of academia has gotten in the way of true exploration. Its hard to fully trust what they are saying as the economists and physicists are so afraid of being wrong they try and cut down any countering theories - hopefully it is simply unrealized bias and can be moved away from in the future.
