Hispanic patients hear about these "five star facilities." As such care is on someone else's dime, they want to partake. They are followed by the county, are uninsured, and followed at the county hospital, yet show up to the Four Seasons facilities in labor, and can not be transferred.

You may or may not realize that not all hospitals are “for profit” AND you the payer, doctors, nurses, and staff have to cover the bills of all of those who don’t pay or pay very little. It’s quite a large percentage of expenses that doesn’t get talked about for obvious political reasons. “Your heart surgery was 180k but 20% of that bill will go to pay for person a, b, and c in the Emergency Room who aren’t going to cover more than a fraction of their expenses!”

Not to mention medical malpractice which equates to billions of dollars every year nationally. The sad fact is many people who receive medical care are looking for any reason whatsoever to get a quick payout

Texas reported more than $1 billion in costs linked to care for people described as in the country illegally in fiscal year 2025 after a new reporting requirement, with 313,742 visits recorded under Gov. Abbott’s order
It was not actually the entire FY, it was 11 months of the FY.
