Not only this but all the major companies that mass produce our meat supply need to invest heavily in regenerative agricultural practice and eliminate using glyphosate along with feeding them the right food and not garbage that’s mixed, corn, soy etc

They've been knowingly poisoning us and quite literally killing us for decades.
Removing the cancer causing "ingredients" is the least they could do. In a just world, those that perpetrated this on the public for profit would be imprisoned or worse.
This is a big step in the right direction though.
Until then, eat real food and encourage your family to do the same.

I have been trying to learn more about food additives. Getting rid of the dyes seems like a step in the right direction.
There is an Iphone app called Yuka (has a carrot on the icon) that is pretty good. You can scan a barcode and it will give you a score out of 100.
If you scan Prairie Farms Half and Half you get a score of 33/100. When you click on more info it tells you the score is low because of 1 additive and too much fat. The additive is dipotassium phosphate (stabilizer).
Then when you scan the barcode for Horizon Organic Half and Half you get a score of 73/100 because it does not have the additive. It still has the fat (because it is supposed to have fat in it).
I have also scanned stuff I would not eat just to see how bad it is
Coke original 0\100 2 additives + too many calories + too much sugar
Doritos nacho cheese flavor 5\100 9 additives + sodium + calories
Coach Sabans Little Debbies 0\100 26 additives + too much sugar + too much fat + too many calories + too much sodium

Eating fat is not bad for you.

Dyes do nothing but attract the eye and poison us. It is so stupid and evil.
Make something that is bad for you look better.
They do nothing else.
Correct.
Now do ham. Ever wonder why ham is reddish and pork is not. It isn't a dye but same concept.

Comparing ingredients in any US product and other countries is absolutely mind boggling.
They have different food safety rules than the US. They don't actually have to list everything out like we do.
However, there are substances banned in Europe that we still use here in abundance (like BHT, rBST, Brominated vegetable oil, etc). We also add a ton more HFCS to everything where they add sugar.
But in the examples you gave for Cool Ranch Doritos, "cool original flavour" is not an ingredient. The US has to list out the "Cool Ranch" ingredients where the UK does not:

smoke makes pork red with nothing added to it. Ham is often smoked.
I'd imagine most of the color is from the curing process.

Yeah I know. I use the app to look for additives and preservatives. My example of two types of H&H shows they are not equal.

I'm all for getting this stuff out of products, I just hate the silly fear mongering graphics like this that are completely disingenuous (not calling you out, calling out the graphic).
It is not disengiounous. While they might have different labeling requirements, the do require all items be listed. LINK
The US allows unhealthy things that most countries do not or which is highly restricted including things like high fructose corn syrup.

It does. There is not anything that man can create to use in foods that nature can not do better.
well the answer is vibrant color additives.
nature doesn’t do them
better.
Idk if that’s worth the trade off but food companies have tried removing dyes and people just weren’t interested.
Trix a few years back.
Edit: obviously there are vibrant colors in nature. there aren’t vibrant food dyes.

In the EU, there are 300 acceptable food additives.
In America, there are 3000 that the FDA allows.
They know how to make Doritos and Mountain Dew without the crazy shite, because they sell them in Europe. They choose not to here because... rea$on$.

It is by definition disingenous. It is using something with multiple variables to try and show a singular variable.
They also allow things to be grouped into generic categories that can contain multiple ingredients, as another poster pointed out above with doritos. They also have E #'s that can apply to groupings of ingredients. They also do not have to list out the full name of the ingredient, they can list out a common name for it. Something like Red Dye 40, we list as that but they list as Allura Red. It gets the most of the publicity these days it seems, but it is perfectly legal to use in Europe as well.

The US also restrics and bans things we say are unhealthy that Europe allows. It goes both ways.
Again, i'm all for getting much of this stuff out of our food, but the misinformation is just silly.

We've been conditioned for so long to associated visual colors with flavors/richness/etc that most shop on how something looks now, regardless of if it actually tastes good/the same.

Out food is poison!!
Go look at any beach photo during the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s you would have a hard time finding a fatty let alone a whale!
Today it’s almost the complete opposite
I saw a picture of a beach in Fort Lauderdale during spring break in the 70’s and I couldn’t find one fat person
