Oh Lord. That's just bullshite.
Posted on 2/5/26 at 12:14 pm to LSUTANGERINE
But you obviously know better?

And if you missed it the first time, he said it a second time for bipolar
Right. “Even though that’s what he said, that’s not what he meant.”

Actually, yes. And so do a lot of others.

Then we should be equally concerned with the twisted synopsis the Xposter gave of the clip.
Wut
Let's hold RFK and some rando on twitter to the same standard.

No, I mocked him for stating it cured schizophrenia.
That’s not what he said. He said a doctor at Harvard told him this and provided him with a study to support his claim.

Did you even listen to the clip you posted? He says that at the end

I did. That was great of him to say that. But this was after he said it was a “cure” for schizophrenia and a “cure” for bipolar disorder.

The crazy thing is that these posters who want to give him extra credence just lie to themselves that "well of course he has access to info no on else has!" Which is just nonsensical and demonstrates a complete misunderstanding of how medical research is conducted and disseminated.

Right. It's Christopher Palmer (Harvard) who says he has cured schizophrenia with keto diet. Not RFK. These are not serious people.
And this shouldn't even have to be said, but you cannot trust anyone who comes in here claiming to be a doctor to shoot you straight on this shite. These assholes get kickbacks from pharmaceutical companies. We all know it. Stop listening to their bullshite.

KETO has it's downsides. I have a close female friend that is close to normal weight and still lifts 50 bags of feed as a farmers wife that has been on it for years. Over those years that she's been on keto, she's developed several health problems including osteoporosis/numb feet/hair loss and memory problems. She never needed to lose weight (but wanted to) and thought it would be "healthier" and said she felt better when she was on it. We need a balanced diet of healthy food including whole grains. (not white bread)

hold our HHS secretary to a higher standard than a twitter rando. He's a health authority now.

Sure it does. But if I were diagnosed as schizophrenic and I had to take anti-psychotics every day I might consider switching to a diet that might let me get off the crazy meds.

I swear, it’s like RFK gets his medical information from late night infomercials selling the newest cure-all pill or diet.

So he didn't say he saw a study where person X "cured schizophrenia" and another one where they "cured bipolar?"
This was likely not a summit on mental health, but on the new food guidelines. Context is important.
"Doctor Holland (Pollsnd?) up at Harvard has cured schizophrenia using keto diet" that is an anecdote
"There's studies right now that I saw two days ago where people lose their bipolar diagnosis by changing their diet" that is an observation of studies he saw.
"It's not only affecting our physical health it's affecting our mental health as well and we're asking people now, eat real food, eat protein" another observation and a plea to better nutrition.
He does NOT say that nutrition is the end all be all concerning mental health, he does NOT say to discontinue treatment, he does NOT advocate any medical changes to mental health patients.
Judging from the background, this is a talk on the new food guidelines and he's touting the benefits, potential and actual, of better nutrition.
People like to twist shite, news at 11pm.

You are fricking flat wrong and you continue to be fricking flat wrong even after being shown you are fricking flat wrong.
You are a retard.

Is he a Scientologist?

Now you're on the right track.
I completely get that impulse and if I had a chronic condition and hated the meds, I’d be looking hard at anything that might help too.
What matters to me is how people in positions of authority talk about that hope. If I were HHS Secretary, I’d say something like:
‘There’s some early evidence that dietary interventions, including ketogenic diets, may help a subset of people with schizophrenia. This is an active area of research. These approaches are not cures, and no one should stop prescribed treatment without working closely with a clinician.’
Same openness to new ideas, but language that doesn’t accidentally push people to drop treatments that are keeping them stable.

He's presumably speaking on the new nutrition guidelines.
He’s offering reasons to eat well.
Some of those reasons include mental health.
He was NOT speaking at a mental health summit, but from a nutrition stance.
Short clips and twisted takes for gotchas are retarded.

To be fair, you are simply speculating about this while lecturing other people about speculating about this.
