This is about as low as you can go in the United States the Secretary of Education Wiz Kid Nancy is cutting 12.5 million in funds from the Special Olympics but increasing funds for Charter Schools by 30:percent.

Third world country politics, greed , bribes, kickbacks, selflessness , heartless disgusting, cruel not surprising coming from Republicans.

Why does the special olympics deserve public money?

Should be very easy to raise privately

Cuts happen in a lot of places that we don’t like.

Which is the greater good?

Education for all, or special Olympics for the few?

Hmmmm...what’s more important? The education of this country or the Special Olympics?

Cutting them back to levels from just a few years ago in part of the department's efforts to curb spending. DeVos also notes that other areas of government can add more to the Special Olympics budget if they feel it is needed.

Last time I checked education is more important than entertainment.

Why should federal tax dollars go to funding a more community event?

They can raise more awareness and funding by actively reaching out to the community.

I’m a supporter of Special Olympics both financially and as a volunteer. Still, this.

1. can you link to something with substance? Or is this conjecture

2. As someone who has family with special needs, I'm not particularly bothered by the federal government getting out of the charity business. I've raised money for Special Olympics and think its a fantastic organization. But a charity is there to benefit the less fortunate from the goodness of citizens and the community

I'm OK with this (if true)

They can get their entire funding from private donations if they wanted. It’s the special Olympics. Voluntaryism is the way of the future homie.

Why in God’s name are any taxpayer funds going to the Special Olympics? This needs to be completely cut.

I love those crazy bastards but education is more important. This is where libs can put their bleeding hearts where their mouth is. Donate and fund the competition.

Secretary Devos is very underrated for her contributions to this administration.

Please defund NPR next. They have trust fund money that will sustain them forever. Their leftist hit piece writers are making bank off of republican tax dollars.
