My issue is that this in no way shape or form could even be a one on one battle. There are so many players involved = potential for WW.

Iranians are started economically. They need unification. The populace is pissed and they are pushing the American Boogeyman.
They will do something to elicit a response. Reignite the Boogeyman to get their people off their backs for choosing to keep Iran a shite hole.
The pictures of Iran from years ago are amazing to see. Then to where they are now is frightening how fast it happened.

If this happens, Israel will no doubt be involved in Iran as well as Syria. This could go multinational with multiple fronts all at the same time. I doubt Russia jumps in or China but Turkey and Saudi will look to get a piece and cause a regional wide war.

Israel's involvement will be letting others do the dirty work while they sit behind the human shields of other countries.

Agreed. I would offer if we can see them doing that now, it falls under 'hostile intent' and per the Law of War/ROE can be targeted per the right of inherent self-defense.
If you have the grid, you have an ideal target for a TLAM strike from the carrier strike group. You could also further assert the Law of War does not protect terrorists, insurgents, and/or saboteurs.

Personally, I think Russia would get involved with the quickness just as a show of support for Iran.
If a war does happen, the people of Iran will revolt for sure and Iran can't handle a war from multiple fronts while leaving the chicken coop unattended.

Only sensible thing I can figure is they’re eithrr suicidal or Russia/China promised to back them. Which would be very bad. Trump has been very tough on both Russia and China and I figured their only response would be to bend the knee or go to war. I hope it’s not the latter, though they could try to take us to the brink of war to get concessions out of fear of WW3. Not sure that would work on Trump though

Will be a short “war”. Trump would unleash the full might of the US military on all Iranian military installations. Will e crippling and will take Iran decades to rebuild military capabilities. This won’t be a “lead from behind” Obama BS strategy. UN will not be consulted or have a say.
