Why?
He's a shoe-in to win which will be spun as absolute vindication of JB and an indictment of the GOP for improperly using the legal system against their perceived political enemies. You think he doesn't want to be the hero of that spin?

You are quite a piece of work
The entire trial will go all the way back to FISA up to his multiple ruling that have been overturned followed by his involvement and authorizing surveillance on Congress
There will be no vindication but an embarrassment for him and a lack of respect for him as a jurist

I disagree
His failure as a judge on fisa
His incorrect legal rulings
His allowing spying on republicans
Pull back the curtain - it will be all over the news
You probably felt the same about clinton and don't care that he perjured himself - lots of integrity coming from you

The Vice President oversees impeachment trials of officials other than POTUS. And I highly doubt it would get the wall to wall coverage you are envisioning. Its not something the media or most people care or know about.
