REMINDER: Polls are meant to shape public opinion, not gauge public opinion

These polls showing Biden with huge leads over both the democrat primary field and Trump are aimed at accomplishing two objectives for the big club:
1. Cement Biden as the democrat pick by using the "electability" argument. The Republicans tried and failed with this in 2016 with a conga line of polls showing that only Jeb or Kasich could beat Hillary and Trump would get killed. The issue is I think it will work for the democrats. They are going to fear monger their primary base by saying only Biden can beat Trump, in order to get their guy in.
2. Demoralize and gaslight Trump supporters. "Hey, Trump has no chance in 2020, might as well not even bother"

I just think it's ironic they hate rich white old men and then turn around and put one as the front runner of their party.

I've posted the above link here before regarding polls. It is a couple of minutes long, but will explain everything. It is from the brilliant British 1980's comedy series "Yes, Prime Minister."
Polls are bullshite unless you know exactly what line of questioning the people are asked, and what the demographics are the askees are.

I believe the filth will try the opposite approach.
Pretend to be on board with Trump given all the accusations against the accusers that are coming out now.
Then when his manufactured-by-the-press "popularity" reaches an all time high two weeks before the election BAM! They throw something out there that is so bad (real or not) that will attempt to sway your vote to the other guy (or gal, or LBTGQXYZMF).
Bottom line: Don't buy into it. The media is our enemy. That will never change. Turn them off/tune them out.

You are absolutely correct.
The biggest problem for Democrats and the biggest advantage for Trump is his record.
The fear mongering won't work because it didn't work last time and now.everyone knows the world hasn't gone to hell like they all predicted about Trump.
Now things can always change but if the economy this time next year looks like it does right now it's going to be very difficult to make an argument against Trump.
When Biden cries about foreign leaders not liking Trump he's carrying Trump's water.
Trump will say it's not true and to the degree there is truth it's because he stopped our allies taking advantage of us as well as our so called trading partners.
