King fricknuts sent Soleimani and his minions pallets and pallets of CASH in the middle of the fricking desert in the middle of the fricking night.

Trump sent him a couple of Hellfire missiles.

Which one had America's best interests at heart?

I'll tell ya what I'm sick of hearing from the Prog/Dim leftists on this money being Iran's in the first place.......Iran lost claim to all their assets when they kidnapped Americans during the overthrow of the Shah. We won't even go down the laundry list of terrorist activities they've sponsored over the past 40 years .......the money should have never been returned to Iran.

400MM of that (the currency) was return of Iranian assets. Prior to the revolution Iran paid that 400MM for fighter jets which were never delivered once the hostages were taken

The remaining 1.3B was simple interest on the 400MM as directed by court order. It was not sent in cash

Did Iran compensate the hostages for the time they were held captive?

And you think they are owed that cash then?

How much of that 1.7 billion found its way back to King fricknuts? I bet .065 billion was disguised as a "book advance."

OP referred to it as “taxpayer money”.
the 400MM was Iranian funds

I gave no opinion on whether it should have been returned. The interest charged was part of the negotiations at the time

If you are afraid of the truth then you are part of the problem

the result of the negotiations was the JCPA among Iran, the EU and the P5. I’d be interested in your explanation of your issue with that pact, other than “Iran is bad”

Which ones? 1979 hostages, or 2016 hostages? Because Iran held our Navy sailors at the time of the $400mm payment. Then between the $400mm and the $1.3bb payment, sailors released.

I read up on the repayment and interest, and you are correct. The United States could have been on the hook for much more.

However, because you seem to be versed on this... 1) Why did this come to a head about the time of the Iran nuclear deal, and 2) Did previous presidents simply ignore the money issue?
