And a tent city was set up in Central Park ...they spent their hours playing cards waiting on cases that never showed.

Is that the one Samaritans Purse set up? Don’t think a lack of customers because there was no need. Just like the hospital ship that wasn’t used. Plenty of folks sent back to nursing homes that should’ve been held somewhere else.

Yes. Typically when one dies, their depression dies too.

886 Covid deaths in the last week in the Houston MSA. In a city as large as Houston and the surrounding areas you tell me there is a burden with 126 or 127 deaths a day?

Bullhockey.

By the way the death rate factors out to 6.66% - 886/13300 I wonder how they got to exactly 13,300 cases served to get 6.66%...

Thats cute because in Maricopa County our week vs week total deaths compared to last years at the same time are down like 30%.

That’s 886 total Covid deaths. Not last week.

I think you are right. NYC ran Samaritans purse out of town. The temp hospital was the Javitz center, a 2k bed overflow facility that saw about 1000 patients total.

The temporary hospital thing was an expensive act of overpreparedness that compelled, even NPR to complain.

yup

it is not austin etc..... big city but the hospitals contract out the staffing for er docs....
half the er docs live in the area.(he lives in the area)..half live in places like austin...colorado...they travel in and take 3-5 days ( like pilots or offshore)...

the out of town docs had to rely on the in town docs sometimes due to logistics of flying in from other areas.... then the real small towns around that all use travel docs to man their hospitals could not get their travel docs into their towns to man their small one man er rooms...
spike in activity and logistics for travel docs.....

logistics are better and he just got a two week break...
