AZ is not hard blue. They'll be blue in the next 10 years, though, thanks to the fine folks of California as well as illegals

So I could have picked any response but you seem to cover what everybody else is saying. So from now on any new voters, immigrants and young people will automatically be democrats? I’m not buying it. Republicans will have to work harder than our current crop of candy assed politicians. But our country will not evolve into Europe. Thank god for the British. We should study the Conservative Party there.

Border states like Arizona and Texas are obviously in danger thanks to illegal immigration.

States with very large urban cities that dominate the rest of the state (like Georgia) are also in danger.

I am mostly worried about TX but you guys are missing the conversion of a large chunk of the black vote. Historically they've been a solid 95% dems but when you look closely they are mostly moderates that are starting to catch the American dream. I live in a small town in Alabama but we have black doctors, black judges/lawers, and black business owners. This is a fairly recent thing over the last 20-30 years but its growing. There are several black folks in my country club and many go to my kids private school. They may have been raised democrats but Trump is showing them how cool the American dream is. And I think they know it would suck big time for them to finally make it only to see their opportunity taken away by socialism.

Californians continue to flock to Texas

This combined with increasing Hispanic population will eventually turn Texas blue. It’s sad, but true.

It's over then. There is no way around it. And Texas likely gets three more congressional seats after the census.

I'd suggest everyone evolve their political leanings more in line with our future country. Otherwise you will die frustrated.

...being in Central TX—I find Hispanics to be just like other races elsewhere in the country. The hard-working individuals and traditional families love Trump. The academics/college students/and government leeches are Dims.

i actually have a great deal of hope that black voters will escape the plantation and the dems will have to pin their hopes on white-guilt libs and illegals.

I'm not sure how much longer the Dems will be able to hold onto the "illegals". Most countries south of the US are very conservative socially. The people that come here legally just want to better their family situation. They don't mind putting in the work to do so. If Trump is able to stack the courts for 5 more years, and the Dems move farther left socially, then the immigrants will switch faster than the blacks.

20 - 30 years? Who the hell knows. 8 years ago the republican party was never going to be in the whitehouse again and was on its death bed.

Technically that did come to pass. The thing about prophecy is that it doesn't happen exactly how people believe it will.

The Republicans of today are Trumpist. It's basically a one man party like the Teddy Roosevelt Bull Moose party. The GOP of the Bush Era are no longer relevant. You could say that this is a new Republican party.

Only time will tell how long Trump vs the GOP will last once his term ends in 2024.

Iowa has three of 4 US Reps who are Democrats now thanks to 2018. Iowa is a purple state.

Wisconsin, with a Democratic governor now, is a purple state. So is Ohio and Michigan.
