I honestly couldn't believe that I was only charged $8 for mine. Seems like a lot of work such a small fee.

No, but I believe renewing your license periodically is useless other than being a money grab by the state.
Drivers licenses serve zero useful purpose as it pertains to driving. They’re more useful as a form of ID than anything else.

Really? It is one of the purposes that it does serve... Also a form of ID and proof that you have met the minimum requirements to operate a MV and other forms of conveyance on public road ways...
