It’s probably a big deal to the 180 non-billionaires who were fired without cause.

Would their firing be more justifiable if they were billionaires?

As others have pointed out, this exact thing is not unheard of or even really unusual in the business world.

I get that it's something that's not pleasant for the employee, but its not something that only billionaires do.

Although it is something that Musk does. That's why Trump enlisted him. Because making deep and fast cuts is how he operates. If he cuts too deep here or there, he just hires back.

He cut 80% of Twitter's labor force almost immediately.

Now, if in the entire history of the United States there was someone else—even one other POTUS—who was interested in significantly cutting the unbelievably massive government bloat that devours taxpayer money like a Hoover vacuum cleaner, then maybe it wouldn't be such an urgent task.

But we may only have 2-4 years to get this done, so it has to be done fast.

Elon said they are moving so fast that they will make mistakes but that they will quickly correct them

No big deal

Been involved in many corporate staff reductions.. pretty important on how you dismiss, why you dismiss, how the leave the building etc..

I imagine you have a lot of labor lawyers dropping off business cards.

You’re pretty bitter that regular Americans got their jobs back. Strange.

damn disgraced. this is a copy and paste from one of the links the other poster provided. it's from the official .gov website.

quote:

Public Health Relevance Statement
Project Narrative There is a lack of knowledge about the effect of gender-affirming hormone therapy on cancer risk and cancer treatment. We will utilize mouse models to understand the extent to which testosterone therapy affects breast cancer development (Aim 1) and breast cancer treatment outcome (Aim 2). Our proposal will gain new insights about breast cancer risk as well as develop new approaches to improve cancer outcome in both the underserved transmasculine community and the cisgender population.

it appears you are on the losing side yet again.

I'd tell them to suck my arse and see if Elon is available to do my old job.

And that's one possible response.

I wouldn't blame someone for giving it.

That's the thing. None of this is personal.

you might be correct this time.

The White Coat Waste Project, a watchdog group, has been a primary source tracking this spending. They estimate that the NIH spent over $240 million on "transgender animal experiments" across mice, rats, and monkeys, with $26 million still active as of early 2025.

even when you are correct, you still lose.

I would be absolutely certain before firing an employee. I’m surprised that is considered bad business but you’re right, I’ve never run a business before.

FTR, I find no joy in anyone losing their job. It affects entire familes, not just the employee. Especially if lost in mass layoffs. But we can't continue at the same rate we are going.

Sure do! I rode it just the other day, too. That was very nice of them.

I think terd and I were fb friends at the time and I used to post pics of my bicycle adventures so he knew how much I enjoyed my bike.
