Grew up in Southern Baptist and Pentecostal faith. Was taught the rapture was coming probably my lifetime. If you read this parable Jesus says the Holy Angels take the tares out not us Christians. Rapture people say we are going out. I am praying to know for sure. Anyway I believe it is very soon, one way or the other

Rapture is just another word, for nothing left to lose.

Weeds that look like wheat in early stages.

They taught that you must not pull them up or you’ll pull up the wheat too.

Kill the weeds later but before harvest.

And for you JimNat.

I am a sinful tare that begged the Lord into my life. I was headed for hell. But He (Jesus) will save ANYONE that truly asks him.

Sir I have been a born again Christian since 1975. I struggle a little with end times issues. I love God and know for a fact I will be in His wonderful presence someday forever.

No rapture, sorry. Man made up. Concern yourself with the unsaved. Love God, Love your neighbor, live it out.

You’re pretty conceited to think you’re special enough for it to happen in your lifetime.

Either you or the pastor.

"For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout, with a loud command and the voice of the archangel and the trumpet call of God and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we be with the Lord forever. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17.

The parable you referenced concerns the second coming when Jesus sets his feet on the Mt. of Olives in Jerusalem. In this scenario, the evil are taken and destroyed but the faithful are left to go into the 1000 reign of Christ on earth.

This is different from the rapture which is an event preceeding the second coming where the faithful bride of Christ is removed from the earth before the tribulation to fulfill the verse in John 14:3 along with many others.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

You seriously need to read the Bible. Try I Thess 4:13-18 and John 14:1-3 just for starters. Some dude on the internet has you brain washed.

“The kingdom of Heaven comets not with observation, behold it is WITHIN “. I’ve long believed that “the Rapture “ will be Subjective, I.e. a state of mind. So is Love; some people ‘see’ it, many don’t. Of course, Heaven will not be same for all, as one’s reward and lack of will depend on one’s beliefs and actions. JMO.

Okay, I did. There is no rapture. There are resurrections. The first resurrection is when Christ defeats the beast.

Christ comes and is the 1st resurrection:
ICor 15:20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.

And Rev 20:
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

5But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

6Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

So you see, there is no 'rapture' preceding Christ coming in Rev 19:11. The 1st resurrection occurs after Christ coming.

I initially believed in a "secret" rapture prior to the Tribulation period. It was the position of the church that I was saved in. I have since come around to the position that you are stating. There are a myriad of reasons why.

Here is one of many passages that I cite when I am asked about my position;

Acts 1
9 Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, 11 who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

Visible.

Without going into a lengthy exegesis, believers today place too much focus on the Bride of Christ (as mentioned in the Revelation of Jesus Christ) and neglect the most common message of Jesus (and His first), the kingdom of God.

cf Matthew 3:1-3, Matthew 4:17 and Mark 1:14-15

When you place the two in their proper context you will see that there is no secret rapture. Only a single instance of a kingdom being established on earth (the first resurrection and the millennial reign).

The parable about the tares and wheat isn’t about the rapture, but instead about life and what will happen during the final judgement. The tares will be burnt ( Hell) and the wheat will be gathered into God’s barn ( Heaven)

I always imagined Heaven a bit nicer than a barn, but I guess it still beats fire.
