I lived in Louisiana for 23 years before moving to Florida for the next 21.
Cubans as a whole are the absolute best group of people I’ve ever been around.

Not just defense. Before Castro Cuba was a big tourist draw for the beaches and casinos. The beaches are still in good shape but the luxury hotels would have to be rebuilt. As part of the U.S. it would be easy to draw investors for that.

My dad said the same. He worked in Cuba as a teenager during summer break from H.S. His dad managed a refinery outside Havana. He said the Cuban girls were pretty but they were obsessed with not getting sun tans because they didn't want to appear mixed race. So they wouldn't join him playing tennis or watching a baseball game from the stands. They only wanted night time dates.
