It's petty AF.

Rand is rock solid and if we had 60 more of him in the Senate, we'd all be better off.

That said, who gives a shite? It's a fricking picnic. A picnic filled to the teeth w/ some of the worst people in America.

For espousing the very same view that 99.9% of this board espoused until 5 minutes ago when Trump told them to change it?

Republicans pre-April-2025: We need to cut spending. We need to cut debt. We need to eliminate the deficit and balance the budget. The path we’re on is not sustainable.

Trump in May 2025: I want Congress to pass this big, beautiful, liberal bill that increases spending and the debt.

Republicans in May 2025: Yay, increased spending and more debt! frick Rand Paul. frick Conservatives.

You all really are supremely fricking STUPID sons of bitches.

Border security is not something that can be cut. We have tens of millions of illegal alien foreigners living here, giving birth, and their children get to be "citizens" (even though they still identify as Mexican) to then vote for leftists.

If you spend even a few minutes looking at our budget breakdown, it is impossible to balance the books without reform and austerity of entitlements, it is not possible otherwise. Cutting shite like USAID is good, but we could cut all of that bullshite and would still be in the hole from entitlements

If we are going to go in debt, it should be at least be for the right reason - like keeping our nation safe.

The poster with whom you are arguing is a lying, weak, intellectually-void, piece of shite. He’s been lying about the Big Liberal Spending Bill and Rand Paul and Massie for days, if not weeks, now.

It’s useless to engage him. His responses only pollute the board.

I agree w/ a lot of that, but totally defunding USAID for good is a must. That's where the Left gets a ton of their influence from. We all know the Left is astroturfed like a mofo, and USAID, our own money, is used to fund that filth.

Absolutely. But cutting border security is asinine. Policy aside, if you are a member of the GOP, you are a retard if you think its good politics to unload on ICE spending as the leftists have one of their hissy fit riots over deportations. Paul is a horrible politician, and he would rather be righteous than accomplish anything

The millions of "dreamer" babies those illegal aliens are having will never vote to cut entitlements, I would bet everything on that.

BS. We are all pro whatever it takes to seal the border and get illegals out of this nation.

That does not happen for free.

And we are. That's been talked about here religiously. NH_Tiger is your go to on it.

I don't know the particulars of the problems that Rand has w/ the border spending. I have not heard him speak on it or read the text he has problems w/. Instinctually, I think he's against it for good reasons, if he is against it to begin w/, but I just don't know, so I can't really give you a decent reply to your criticism of him.

Now, about him accomplishing anything. The same exact argument was used against his dad. Now, because of Ron Paul the right is now anti-war and we have a huge portion of us that fricking loathe neocons. Point is, just because policies he supports at the time don't get passed (and how would they, because Reps and Dems are addicted AF to spending our money and our kid's money) doesn't mean they won't have an impact on the way people see things down the road.

The bill cuts spending.

The deficit is from tax cuts. Which won’t be what CBO predicted because gdp will go up along with tax revenues and the tariffs.

Even if CBO is right. There will be actually no way to prove if the prediction was right because there will be an administration change in the short term and that could come with policy changes that affect 10 years from now.

He has been whining for weeks about how much we are going to spend on border security (here is 1 article from the other day: LINK)

It is bad politics. His annual compilation of the biggest waste of gov spending is awesome. Trying to tell us we are overspending on border security while we have foreigners waving their flag looting an American city is counter productive, and dilutes the GOP's message to the public about where it stands. Immigration and trans policy is what won the election in 2024, not economics. Politics is much more culture based than "its the economy stupid" these days

I used to like Rand. Ive posted before here that him, Massie and Amash used to be some of my favorites. They just dont know when to shut their mouths, their actions in the past couple years make fiscal austerity less likely rather than more likely. They dont seem to realize you need political capital to achieve policy goals, the government doesnt operate like a debate club

The bill does NOT cut spending- not even by one fricking penny. It only cuts the rate of growth of future spending.

That’s actually a spending increase.

It doesn’t cut spending. It increases it.

It increases debt.

Those are the facts.
