Same group who wants to whine about the budget deficit, while refusing to consider social security needs to be cut, because social security is the biggest federal expenditure (by far). Yall didn’t pay in your fair share when you were in the work force
not that you'd know jethro but just 5 years ago you maxed social security at 130k this year it's 176k i don't remember anyone running for reelection on increasing the maximum on paying into social security. the SSA simply does it. since it only effects a few people you middle class welfare queens don't care. this year i'll pay 23k for the same benefit that just 5 years ago i paid 10k for.
so here's what you're going to do mary jane, you're gonna get your arse out there on that corner and go make my money biotch.
the biggest problem we have in this country regarding the deficit is that the middle class no longer pulls their own weight.

You realize all tariff costs are passed along to the end consumer right? You're ok with a blanket 15% increase in prices on things we import?
This is not correct. It destroys any point you may have to just make shite up. Price elasticity is a thing, learn about it.

This makes no sense. Are you saying if we reshore manufacturing to the USA we make LESS in tax revenue? The pre Trump tariffs were so low this is a nonsensical response. We definitely did not make more in tariffs before that we did on corporate taxes and income tax for American workers. You TDS is showing.

If we could replace income taxation with tariffs, I would be all in but it’s just not possible.
We need over 5 trillion a year to get our expenses paid. Tariffs won’t cover it.
Companies are going to have to pass along the higher tariffs to consumers at some point. Shareholders will revolt if they don’t. Why would any self respecting capitalist accept a company absorbing a big hit like a double digit tariff?
Dumb

If your tax base is tariffs, sure.
Trump really doesnt believe mfg will return to the USA so you dont have to worry too much about that part.

Rand doesn’t like the fact that Trump is smarter than he is……

I’m fine with that
Not getting products from other countries or slowly rising prices may not be noticed in the short term, but overtime we will see the price increase and notice products no longer on shelves
Tariffs are acting like taxes. Companies will raise prices to cover the tariffs or just stop shipping them to America. This might help are debt, but it not going to be good for the American consumer.
If we decide to make the products in the US we will still need to get the goods shipped to the US to make the product.
