My only thing with Rand as POTUS is idk how tough he’d be against the media. Trump has been bitch slapping the media since day 1.

I always thought the USA propping up green/renewable energy was in our best interest not because of BS climate change argument, but because anything to diminish our reliance on Middle Eastern oil (and therefore enriching people who fund radicalism) would be a severe blow to our enemies.
The Saudis are bad people who shouldn't be getting billions from us, just so it can be funneled to groups that kill our troops and our citizens. I think Rand is the best person to make this argument.

If Rand Paul allowed the media to dictate his political agenda, he wouldn't be the most principled non-interventionist in the United States Senate since Robert Taft.

I voted for Rand in the primaries and I still support him but I'm not going to pretend that he could've withstood the media, Clinton machine and GOPe onslaught as well as Donald Trump did.
In fact, no one has come close to Trump in a long time.

I think you're confusing Trump being on another level beyond anything people have ever seen before in politics and believing republicans can reach that level.
