I'm sure they're both incredible. I've only seen pictures. I would choose Balmoral for the simple fact that it's in Scotland.

If it were true... it would have nothing to do with living conditions. It would be a power statement.

whore Meghan Markle & Harry moving to the States so she can run for the U.S. Presidency.

She is over 35, so eligible by age I suppose.

BUT:

14 years continuous U.S. residency must be established prior to running, right?

And what is her citizenship status now, did she officially renounce US citizenship, or is she a dual citizen, or does she even have UK citizenship yet (probably a UK visa holder only, so she is likely eligible from this citizenship aspect)?

Also, can a holder of foreign royal titles and rights be "in the clear" regarding emoluments clause?

But what does this have to do with the queen leaving for another smaller castle because the large castle is getting renovations?

Would you knock it off with this shite? Again, the renovations aren't the point. I don't dispute renovations being done in Buckingham Palace. For fricks sake. The point is that when she left the palace the stated reason was Covid19 and now, as evidenced in the article in the OP, she isn't returning again because of Covid19.

Disingenuous as hell.

There was an article on it. She was born in Cally. They relinquished all royal titles.

And she moved away.

So eligible again in 14 years from her return, yes?

And I missed the article, I did not know that they have completely relinquished all royal honors, titles, and privileges.

Why did she leave because of Covid? Is it just how big the staff is?

And whatever you say about COVID-19 it’s not a fricking joke at her age.

Only one paper is reporting your headline and they are worse than the national enquirer. It is a tabloid UK rag.

I think so. They wanted to move her to a smaller, more controlled location.

FWIW:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-8444439/Meghan-Markle-wants-run-President-United-States-claims-Lady-Colin-Campbell.html

About as reliable as the Mirror UK title of this thread...

Because some Lady La di da says so...

But I could see Markle run when Hollywood encourages her...

They mostly stay at Windsor and Balmoral. What's the big deal?

I see that they "stepped away from royal PR duties" but no evidence that they have completely and permanently renounced all royal privileges, property, honors, and titles.

That would definitely seem to fall afoul of emoluments clause. They hold high rank in a foreign government.

Heck, dems tried to say Trump was self enriching because of his international hotel properties.

This is WAY more on the nose.

I think she "may" have an abundant supply of a "fountain of youth type" elixir, which also affords her the luxury of not having to worry about the deadly flu, er, I mean Virus.

It is all over the daily mail that they renounced their royal titles and their site was scrubbed of the royal titles. It was in the contract the queen gave them.

Her other primary residences are Windsor Castle in Berkshire and Balmoral Castle in Scotland, which offer much more privacy to her and the Royal Family.

She and Prince Phillip lived at Clarence House in London for the first year of her reign (Prince Phillip actually preferred it). It was Churchill who made them move into Buckingham Palace. The Queen Mother left BP and took their place at Clarence.

But they have not renounced these titles.

They simply no longer use the style "your Royal Highness"

Link if otherwise.

This is an important distinction

There is a NYTimes article that Harry abdicated the throne. So therefore Markle is as free as Harry.

Do you read your links?

They renounced the "HRH" style, not the titles themselves.

Direct quote from your article:

quote:

Left purposefully unclear by the Buckingham Palace press release is whether they have actually been stripped of it — it's assumed that they haven't actually quite yet been stripped of royal status — but either way, the HRH will not be used by the couple

He still holds a peerage in the House of Lords

Abdication from throne eligibility is irrelevant. He holds a peerage in the upper chamber of a foreign government.
