The whole of Ukraine has strong historical ties to Russia. Why don't you look into the origins of modern Slavic nations.

I have and understand that Kiev was once the capital Russia, and all the other historical facts.

What the frick is your point? Obviously Putin hasn't taken all of Ukraine.

I didn't think so but it just threw me for a loop when you said ukraine but earlier was talking about Crimea that is all.

My offer stands. If you want to measure my talk against my fear of losing $500, it's absolutely on the table.

So when you wrote you reject the bet what you meant was you accepted the bet?

You're not being very coherent.

I accept the bet under the conditions that it can be executed in a legal and transparent manner. Believe it or not, a man-to-man transfer of this kind is not legal is most jurisdictions in the United States. If we're men of honor, however, we can agree upon charities to patronize. You pick mine, I'll pick yours. I stand to give up what you demand and vice versa. Isn't that the point? And it's all above board. I know a swindler like you isn't overly concerned with the law, but I have to take a polygraph from time to time and I tire of sweating through them.

Sorry. I have a certain penchant for rhetorical flair. Sometimes I have to levy an attack.

You do seem shady at times, though...

I have no dog in this fight but I do believe this about Russian. He definitely is.

Say what you will about Wiki but at least he wasn't a hack like Russian.

here's what I have so far

one of them thinks putin is a weak and ineffective leader - navy (an underestimation I'm sure our weak and ineffective leader is making)

one of them thinks he is a strong minded and effective leader - Russian (however, I am confused on if this is him understanding practical realities or admiration for putin and his government)

I'm not sure which one is advocating that Putin will withdraw, and whether due to his benevolence or incompetence and which one thinks he will continue expanding and whether they think it is the result of great leadership or dangerous war mongering.

1. Putin is an effective leader who is has projected Russian influence successfully across the globe
2. Putin is a dangerous autocrat who will not stop seeking territories in an expansion of Russia
3. I don't think anyone can do anything about it.

Meh, I've already done it. He's all internet tough guy BS talk.

He makes a stupid, unsupportable statement, gets called on it, makes a bet and backs out, then starts making personal attacks for zero reason.
