And here I joined this thread because the navy guy was calling you a Putin nut sucker just because you asked him about his Putin statements. Then you disappeared.

We just covered this. Putin is a little preoccupied at the moment.

No offense intended. I had to put the kids to bed then came back in the middle of it.

FWIW I think you should take the bet. Free money IMO

I accepted his charity donation bet if he sticks to his original bet that Crimea will not be "held" by Russia one year from now.

As Gray pointed out, navy is trying to change it to 2 years from today.

I'm waiting for his reply.

I accept but none of this "Russia promises to leave someday BS." Either Crimea is or is not under Russian control one year from today. That was your original statement. Accept or decline.

My position is clear, Russian. You probably consider yourself a tough negotiator, but you're actually just a stiff-necked and unreasonable man.

Take time to consider. There's only $500 in the balance.

Back to the thread's topic, are 3 tanks of any military significance or is this more of a symbolic gesture of support?

Or just another poke in Obama's eye by Vlad?

I'm confused. Is it on year or two?

I understand that Ukraine has fixed wing assets so tanks could be wiped out fairly easily if they are actually a threat. Do the rebels have any air defense systems?

The daytime journey of the three tanks through eastern Ukraine, which was filmed in multiple videos and witnessed by Western reporters, could not have been more obvious, and yet the convoy was too small to serve a military purpose. Was it a warning?

The Ukrainian Army reported Friday that it had destroyed two of the three tanks and several other vehicles in the convoy.

Also some multiple launch missile systems are being massed just across the border expected to move into Ukraine soon.

Actually, it's not.

I won't keep begging you to stick to your original bet. You obviously are scrambling for a way out. I've agreed to your charity donation part.

One year "held" by Russia. Yes or no.

This is my last attempt to let you prove you original statement's conviction.

One year until the government in Kyiv has re-established civil order and effective control in Crimea and Russian military forces are in the earnest process of redeploying across the border. Some months after, all Russian troops have redeployed.

Right. I overlooked that detail. Militarily significant or mainly symbolic? Defensive or offensive?

Too much garbage terminology. "Effective control" "ernest process" "some months later"

If the Ukrainian flag flies over the Crimean parliament building in Simferopol one year from today, you win. If it's the Russian flag flying, I win.

Take it or leave it.

LSU Russian, I think you already won. Every time you try to put forth objective criteria by which to judge the bet, he comes up with some subjective b.s. that cannot be measured.
