Puerto Rican flag at Superbowl

I'm sure this has been said already, but I'll repeat: Puerto Rico is a United States territory, and Puerto Ricans are American citizens.

Ask yourself the following question: “Wold you have been equally upset if the performer had been George Strait and if he had included a Texas flag in his performance?”

If the answer is “no,” do you have the courage to ask yourself “Why” and to give an honest answer?

At least one poster (OceanTiger) had the honesty to admit that he just does not want to live near fellow Americans of Latino descent. Bigot that he is, at least HE is honest.

I wasn't upset, I just think it was absolutely unnecessary and J Lo trying to make a political statement during a sporting event.

To answer your question, yes I would consider it just as unnecessary and inappropriate if George Strait was performing and included a Texas flag, considering the Super Bowl WASN'T IN TEXAS, just like it WASN"T IN PUERTO RICO.

I find that the people who throw out the bigot and racist terms quickly are the bigots and racists themselves. So please AggieHand inform me what it's like to be a bigot?

I agree with all of this. I also think there was no reason to include the Puerto Rican flag at the Super Bowl

Remind Puerto Ricans then that they are a U.S. Territory. They are the ones who are always wanting independence.

And for the record, I'm not against Puerto Rico being part of the U.S. Like many people though let's stop with the "Territory" cr*p. Make Puerto Rico the 51st state or let them become a sovereign nation. No more of this middle ground stuff with them. Put their money where their oh so often big mouths are.

Were there any Puerto Ricans on either team? Isn't soccer their main sport?

Once again, broad strokes.

Local referendums don't unilaterally decide this. The US has always been in the driver's seat in that relationship.

I don't like J Lo. But flashing some stupid flag in which you have pride is a "political statement"?

Why lie?

What's that? You say it's because you're on your period that you're being such a whiny bitch? Excused, I guess.
