In total, Hilferty’s campaign has received $28,000 from Entergy executives and the company’s political action committee.
Of the five candidates on the ballot, Hilferty is the only candidate to receive substantial support from major utilities regulated by the commission.
quote:
Some notable utility donations to Hilferty’s campaign include:
A combined $28,000 from Entergy executives and ENPAC, the company’s political action committee. The Public Service Commission regulates Entergy Louisiana, which serves over one million Louisiana residents and is currently seeking approval from the Public Service Commission for major infrastructure projects related to Meta’s data center in Richland Parish;
A combined $23,000 from Delta Utilities executives and Delta Utilities PAC, a political action committee associated with Delta Utilities. Over the past several years, Delta Utilities has become the largest natural gas provider in Louisiana following decisions by the Public Service Commission and the New Orleans City Council, which regulates utilities in New Orleans, to allow it to purchase Entergy’s gas business. The company is backed by Bernhard Capital Partners, a private equity firm led by Baton Rouge businessman Jim Bernhard, a former chair of the Louisiana Democratic Party and major contributor to state political candidates.
A combined $18,150 from a Cleco political action committee and company officials. Cleco is an energy provider that is in the process of being sold to Pine JV Holdings, which is controlled by Stonepeak Energy and Bernhard Capital Partners, a deal that will require Public Service Commission approval. The company, which serves nearly 300,000 Louisiana residents, mostly in central Louisiana, is also seeking approval from the commission for major infrastructure projects related to Applied Digital’s new data center in Rapides Parish.
To calculate the sum of utility donations, Verite News aggregated contributions made by the utility companies themselves with contributions made by high-level executives and political action committees associated with the utilities. ($12,000 is the maximum contribution that an individual can make, but large political action committees and political parties are able to contribute more.)
Hilferty, unlike her opponents, has also benefitted from outside spending — groups that campaign on her behalf but do not coordinate with her campaign. In June, as Hilferty prepared to face off against former Jefferson Parish President John Young in the second round of the Republican primary for the District 1 seat, a Texas-based political action committee, called American Power PAC, spent $161,000 on digital ads in support of her campaign. According to campaign finance filings, American Power, which is new to Louisiana politics, is led by Larry Ward of Michigan and funded entirely by a Michigan-based nonprofit called American Power Play.

Can she write her own proposals and motions? Or is she going to have Entergy ghostwrite them like Skrmetta?

It is ridiculous. The insurance commission has always deflected me when I have complained. I could tell that they are programmed to not hold the insurance industry accountable for anything

Are they terrorists? No? Ok then.
Let’s put the same scrutiny on Sayed and Talarico and see where their dark money came from

Where was all your reporting when Greedyteedy was scamming the city posed as the mayor?

They don't even pretend to give a shite either. I was like, "uhh.. can you at least say you'll make note of this??"
edit: the guy responded, "oh yeah. sure." Then we said our goodbyes. This was a real phone conversation a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah. I'm sure Verite News was all over the corruption of Teedy and Louisiana Democrats in previous years.

Hilferty is about the most Democrat "Republican" I know of. She is not conservative and she's only a "Republican," because she couldn't get elected as a D.

No idea how she'd be as a commissioner, but she has been one of the legislators leading the push to reform the Nola Sewer and Water Board, including legislation to set up the arbiter program on disputed billing.

I know you won’t respond or you’ll respond by saying “everyone knows you love dems even though you’ve literally never expressed any love for a dem”

Anyone in District 1 considering voting for the “Republican” Hilferty, Here is a sample of her record from the last 6 years. This is not exhaustive just a sample. One things for sure, she will NOT represent YOU, and your children will be paying for this when they’re 30. Chris Justin is no party, and the position shouldn’t be partisan. The PSC’s soul job is to protect ratepayers from predatory practices of monopolies. He’s an engineer hired by the PSC to find savings. He found $1Billion that could be easily cut from your bill, about $500/ year. He decided to run when they ignored him. If you haven’t heard, the PSC has already shifted data center infrastructure cost onto ratepayers,(only $3.5 Billion,) refused a judges order for transparency regarding data center’s permanent jobs and electricity usage. Does anyone really think someone accepting $137,000 from the very people they’re charged with regulating will work to protect YOU?

VOTE Chris Justin.
Stephanie Hilferty is horrible. Absolutely horrible. She’s been one of the worst legislators in the legislature and anyone who thinks she’ll be looking out for you has another thing coming. Accepting $137,000 from the people you’re expected to regulate is ridiculous. 4 candidates statewide refused the money. Not Stephanie. District 1 could keep everyone from going bankrupt in the next 6 years by voting for Chris Justin. Look him up. He’s qualified, an expert the PSC hired, and honest.

This is a joke! Her big contribution to Louisiana was a bill that allows someone to appeal their water bill after they’ve been overcharged. She’s positively one of THE worst legislators. She votes like a radically left Democrat.
