I'm not a liberal, and have no desire to see a Democrat take the spot. That said, I detest Moore and it has nothing to do with "Bible thumping". He demonstrated, multiple times, that he feels himself as "above the law" while he was on the Alabama Supreme Court. He's a fear monger to the Nth degree, offering practically nothing of substance and shying away from positions where he has to actually create anything.

Unfortunately, a third party will never rise up in Alabama. This would have been a perfect opportunity for a Libertarian candidate to rise up, considering the two options, but that's a pipe dream in Alabama. Jesus could run as a Democrat and they'd still vote Republican (and no, the guy running with the "D" is not even remotely close to Jesus).
