PSA: University of Austin is Disseminating Elite Academic Material for Free

If you aren’t following the University of Austin yet, hop on the train early. They are trying to create an alternate model for the higher education system. And even though that model is unlikely to scale anytime soon, it is a critical first step in creating a functional system that returns the focus to the pursuit of truth.
As part of that pursuit, they post many of their seminars for free on their YouTube page. Here’s one from Roland Fryer this morning on the claims of racial discrimination in policing. It’s long, but it’s possibly the best coverage of the data I’ve ever seen. Check it out if the topic is interesting to you, or follow UATX for future seminars if this isn’t your topic of choice.
Roland Fryer UATX Seminar
Edit: Here’s Fryer’s backstory if you haven’t heard of him: Fryer UATX Introduction

I'm not sure why you're getting downvotes. This was actually quite good. Thanks for posting.

He's getting down votes from people who can not step out of their bubble and look at anything from anyone that may have a differing opinion on any subject.
ie. Bari Weiss. I don't agree with a lot of what she says, but at least she's honest and will have conversations with anyone.

Perhaps these posters don't know the U of Austin background, and that it's specifically intended to counter the worst elements of modern academia (woke, regressive, anti-knowledge insanity)

There is a group of outspoken liberals on this board, and a few outspoken conservatives who are really liberals. Well they have to hate the black man that says the data shows no racial bias in use of deadly force.
It's a cult

It’s a revolutionary—or perhaps a return to thousands of years ago—approach towards higher education.
Very much worth reading about.

Yeah, although there are already some that are somewhat in the same mold. See St. John's College and their great books curriculum. It's the higher education equivalent to the classical education movement, I'd say.
Ralston College in Savannah (Jordan Peterson is involved) is also trying to get off the ground.

It’s also possible they do, and the downvotes are coming from the left who don’t want UATX’s open pursuit of truth. So they don’t bother me either way.
I do hope the board surfs the material though, there’s a lot of good stuff

One of the guys who came up with the idea for the University of Austin (and funded a big chunk of it) is pushing one of my best friends to run for Austin City Council. He has a lot of big money friends from Austin Country Club behind the idea. They're planning to run him as a liberal and use him as a Trojan Horse. It will be a few years down the line, and maybe it's crazy, but I thought his idea for UATX was far-fetched too.
