I keep the beard trimmed and just shave my cheeks and neckline.
Same here. I'm new to DE shaving. What shaving cream/soap do you use? My folks gave me a container of Art of Shaving Sandalwood shaving cream and a badger hair brush for Christmas.

Wal Mart has an "Equate" replacement blade.
Anyone know whether they are actually made by Gillette?

Used to see off-brands, and then they went away. I think the Equate cartridge is 'compare to", not "will fit on" a Gillette handle.

I use some Schick handle and the off-brand stuff will fit on that. You find a dozen 3- or 5- blade cartridges for under $5, you will realize how bad Gillette is raping us for reloads.

Have to shave daily though and have thick facial hair, as I'm an adult male.
I’m so happy you let us know you’re an adult male who needs to shave. Lord knows where people’s minds would have gone otherwise.

Does Gillette give you ingrown feathers?

Proctor and Gamble own both Art of Shaving and Gillette.

I use a couple: I have the tried and true Proraso shave soap, the Sandalwood one by Taylor of Old Bond Street, and Pre de Provence #63 that I all use with a badger hair brush, then for quick shaves I use Jack Black Beard Lube. The shaving soaps last me forever.
I haven't tried Art of Shaving, but I know it's popular.

Anyone know if Publix has to pay Gillette for the right to manufacture these?

To hell with shaving. I haven't used a razor in 10 years. I bought a trimmer and never looked back. I get a pretty close trim without using a guard or I can go a few days and trim using a 1 guard. The best part is never having to deal with skin irritation. Other than buying batteries every 6 months, I'll never waste another dollar buying blades, shaving cream or after shave.

All those blades are cheap anyway. That's why they tear up your face. Buy an adjustable safety razor, get a sleeve of Feather blades on ebay, and a quality cream like Proraso and you will never look back.
This.
I have an Edwin Jagger DE Safety Razor Heavy duty (use to have a Merkur), will last a lifetime like your Dads or grandads. The heaviness of it makes the razor do all the work.
Then you can get a 20 pack of over 100 DE blades for like $6 bucks.
Agree with Proraso if you can't take the time.
But if you can take the time, Badger brush, mug and Bay Rum mug shaving soap with a block of Alum after the shave.

Ouch, those can be deadly. They're surgical.

All DE razors can be dangerous. They're tools that need to be used with care. I've never cut myself using Feather and bc they're so sharp, it's very easy to tell when it's time to change the blade.
