Well right. They had to tie it to America some how. But they didn’t strike a US base and they didn’t kill anyone. That’s not by mistake.
So they might have just cratered a runway or something.

It was an Iraqi base, but Al Assad is our base. It used to be where Saddam trained his Olympics. I was there in 2007 and it was huge, camp cupcake, I can only imagine what it's like today. It's a major hub and we've held on to it, where as we have destroyed other bases over the years over there.

All the same...you don't just hit a base that you know has U.S. personnel stationed there and then say, "Don't hit me back!" after it's done.
